Big screen HDTV with surround sound compared to 15 dollar movie tickets and audiences that won't shut up also plays a part.

For alternative viewing options, watch retro TV shows. It was a kinder, gentler world back then. In the 60’s shows, you start to see the integration of minority characters including Asians into the episodes. The shows tried to depict Americans coming together.

Liberalism is no longer “edgy,” or avant garde. It’s merely decadent, psychotic, and nihilistic now. “Originality” is rare.

And Hollywood hasn’t gotten the message.

If Hollywood wants to “push the envelope” they would beat a path to writers like Matt Bracken and others and make films bases on their good old-fashioned adventure yarns that are based on a likely future dystopia.

But they won’t. They will ride the Liberal/Neo-Marxism train to the bitter end.

A short counterpoint.

How many times has the Phantom of the Opera been made - re-made, and re-made again?

My son and I saw the latest remake several years in Boca Raton, FL. It played to repeated full audiences (we got in on our second attempt THAT NIGHT). It lived up to every expectation.

My 35-year old son was surprised that no one left until the credits had finished playing. He was even more surprised when the audience applauded the movie at the end!

When was the last time any of us had stayed all the way through the credits and then applauded the movie?

Hollywood can do great work when they ignore the temptation to prove their moral superiority by lecturing us on things that are important to them but don’t even make the bottom of our page.

Seriously, how long did Hollywood think it could cash in on insipid comic book movies? Really? That's how shallow the creative pool is in the movie biz these days? Leaving the obnoxious politics aside, the utter fluff the Fantasy Factory produces these days isn't worth the price of admission. Add the repellent anti-normal messages into the mix and it's no wonder people are staying away in droves.

The sooner the Hollywood scum pump goes bust, the better.

Movies and TV are filled with leftist agenda items that mock conservatives. Many shows are filled with morally reprehensible characters, nudity-sex scenes, talk of climate change and foul language to excess (some by children). There seems to be more shows (and actors and actresses) we won't watch than would watch at my home:

Emmy’s Host Stephen Colbert Brags He Will Fill Emmy’s With Tasteless Attacks on Trump

The Emmy’s hate conservative, traditional Americans. The awards show is Sunday.

The last movie I went to in a theater was Alexander. I walked out in the middle of it when it became clear that their main objective was to push the homosexual narrative. That kind of garbage is a waste of my valuable time.

It’s true, even though I personally still like the comic book genre, Hollyweird isn’t the powerhouse it once was. People don’t go to the theater like they used to and there are only a handful of truly decent tv shows on during the week and that’s only during the best season (Fall).

I see this as a good thing most but somewhat bad because I like a good show unless I’ve seen a dumb actor go on tv spouting their leftist politics like jennifer lawrence just did (what an idiot); then it taints the show completely. Looking good on screen and being an ‘okay’ actor does not qualify anyone to be an expert in politics. They should enjoy their mega millions and just STFU.

Now is the ideal time for a wealthy, conservative moneybags to create a conservative movie studio. They should use the same concept as did Golan-Globus (Cannon Films) did in the 1980s.

Particularly, they should stay out of the hardtop theaters, and instead produce movies for streaming and DVD sales, and TV shows for streaming and syndication.

The productions should be low budget, ideally between $1-2 million, using little or no CGI, but pay more for screenplays and use live, instead of canned, music. Produce in right to work states with non-union actors and technical people. With such low budgets, even if one in a dozen movies is a hit, it pays for all of them. Very high profit margins.

They should have two different “labels” for their stuff: a totally family-friendly label; and a “more adult” label that can incorporate *some* violence, nudity and bad language. This is what Disney did with its films.

The “more adult” label also can work like Funimation, based in Texas, that releases some of the better, HQ Asian anime in the US. This is because there is a huge library of existing quality anime and Asian movies and TV available, some of which is very good and would sell well in the US.

So what kind of movies would the new conservative movie studio produce? The family side is easier: stories with people with good character, wholesome family stuff, role models, character building, pious religious themes, clarity in right vs. wrong, showing that hard work and honesty pays off; that redemption is possible, and that no member of families is stupid, mean or crude. Emphasis on patriotism and good education.

The more adult side would have Chuck Norris style action, which still sells. National, state and local patriotism. A lot more sexual self-control with the emphasis on religious marriage before sex and children. Old style romance and gender roles. Importantly, minority characters are neither stereotyped nor liberals, can work in any job, but must work. Drugs are not used, except as tragedy. And minimal alcohol as well as tobacco. Not just no sexuality in children, but anti-sexuality.

KDramas are better than anything Hollywood puts out.

Hollywood as we have known it is dead, yes it is.

No, it isn't. It's less influential than it was before, and in part that's a voluntary decision as studios have chosen to turn movies into channels for left-wing propaganda. But there is no conservative or even moderate alternative. Hollywood may be less pervasive than it used to be, but cheering over that makes no sense when it's still the only game in town and millions of young minds still get shaped by Hollywood.

You don’t just change the channel, you stop really even looking. I have Amazon Prime. I see promos that would have pulled me in 30 yrs ago, at least to check, bUT I’m so tired of Leftist snark, cant, and drivel sneaking in that I don’t even bother anymore.

Even with a down year they’re still going to haul in around 11 billion in domestic tickets, plus DVD, stream and everything else. Anybody thinking that’s dead and having no influence is just plain stupid.

I’ve been watching lots of old movies recently. They were much better than the movies being made today.

Wish this were true but I doubt it. Hollywood or not, pop culture leftism is everywhere in entertainment.
