But what about the shepherds guarding their flocks? Would there have been young lambs in the fall?

There is some pagan significance to July 4th as well, can’t recall what it is.

I would respectfully disagree that the bible says that He was born on September 11, Feast of Trumpets.

His Creation and Word does hint that The Word did become Flesh on the 1st Day of one of His months, though.
So the birth on one of the Father’s ‘day of the new moon’ is accurate.

But the Word becoming flesh on the 1st day of the 7th month has some biblical obstacles to jump over.
But a birth a month earlier seems to fall in live with His Word nicely.

It only gets really cold a couple of days in the winter in Israel. It is a Mediterranean country.

I didn’t write this article, but I appreciate how this man uses astronomical signs that are in the Bible to authenticate his research.

The fact that enemies of Christ have utilized this day to commit horrific acts of violence tells me that there is some validity to this day being Christ’s birth day.

Lord bless.

“but do you believe God does not want us to know what day Christ was actually born?”

It is not required for salvation, nor Christian maturity.

Beyond that, it does not matter, except God says He brought Messiah into the world “in the fullness of time.”

That’s the beauty of telling time with His Creation and His Word.

Lots of talk of a woman with the sun and the moon and the stars in Revelation 12 lately- but that has a significance to His birth if we let the Word speak.
That sign of the woman shows up now in the fall (7th and 8th months) as I was able to see the moon under her feet on the ‘1st day of the 7th/8th/7th months, respectively, the last three years.

And Israel or Judaism only got one of those right, btw.

A couple thousand years ago, the woman, because of the earth’s wobble, wasn’t showing up in the 7th and 8th months like it does today.

It was showing up in the 6th and 7th months (in 7th month with a 13th month)

Today, on the Father’s calendar, is the 20th Day of His 6th month. The 5th day of His work week. a Day that commemorates the creation of the sea creatures and the birds of the heavens.

It may be moon day ‘september 11th’ on the world’s calendar, but the Word Became Flesh on an appointed day He taught Israel to assemble and it isn’t ‘September 11th’..

It may have fallen on that ‘day’ but it’s just like His Passover or any of His appointed times- He doesn’t tell time through Rome’s template.

He tells time through His Son.
Because people have been conformed to tell time like a roman citizen and not a citizen of the Kingdom of heaven, they have accepted a false calendar that has hidden amazing truth.

We all have a ‘birthday’ that isn’t on the roman calendar. We only know our roman birthday but since He is Sovereign, He knows both.
On the Father’s calendar, our birthday doesn’t land on a different ‘day of the week’ every year like our Roman birthday. It stays the same..
Because He changes not..

But time has changed.

It is good that people are starting to question Rome with their December 25 using His Creation and His Word.
When they start there, I hope they continue to question Good Friday,Holy Saturday and Easter Sunday, too..

Because Passover, Unleavened Bread and First Fruits not landing on friday/saturday/sunday doesn’t change His appointed days importance.

It sort of exposes rome’s for what they are, including their december 25: weak and beggarly..

Just by using His Creation and His Word- like this writer did. Same tools but without the conformity to rome.

May He continue to bless you Sontagged!

I think the crushing defeat of the Ottomans at Vienna is the reason Muslim extremists look to strike back on Sept. 11th.

This article is edifying for me personally.

Encouragement/edification of the saints is not to be downplayed.

And let’s not forget “It is to the glory of God to conceal a matter, but to the glory of kings to reveal it...” i.e. God is pleased when we find His hand in hidden aspects of creation and it is also a sign of authority.

The Bible says in Daniel the calendar would be changed by the devil to confuse the Feast Days of the Lord in Leviticus 23. If you were led by the devil, you wouldn't want people to be watching when God was doing something. Why not use pagan festival days to celebrate rather than the true days God set aside for Himself. As we see RIGHT NOW, most Christians have no idea that the Rapture could happen in 2 weeks! They have no idea "The day no one knows the day or the hour" is Feasts of Trumpets, because churches don't teach the Bible. They have no idea Jesus rose on First Fruits and Easter is a Pagan day. Many seem to realize Jesus was killed on Passover, but haven't put together that Easter is a different day on the calendar than Passover, Unleavened Bread, or First Fruits, sometimes as much as 2 weeks different. If you look at your calendar, Passover is always more than 3 days before Easter, putting Jesus in the tomb for various amounts of time more than 3 days. Trying to reconcile the Pagan calendar with Jewish happenings confuses Christians and make what they believe a fairy tale.

The only way to keep up with God's days is to follow the Jewish calendar. I'm sure Satan chuckles every year as he watches Christians celebrate pagan days thinking they are honoring Christ. Halloween is getting as big as Christmas. Santa and reindeer have nothing to do with Christ and bunnies and chocolate eggs have nothing to do with Christ.

Doing a word search in The Bible for "watch" will reveal several verses pertaining to the Last Days. If we read those verses, God stresses we are to be WATCHING! Watching for what? The Feast Days in Leviticus. Feast means Moed which refers to a dress rehearsal. A holy convocation refers to an arranged time. So God is saying to be watching for Him to do something on these days that you rehearse what was given in Leviticus. Jesus was truly born on Trumpets, but I don't think we can know the exact year with the info we have. Most of it is speculation from 2-4 BC or so. We do know He was born on Tabernacles, so why are we celebrating Dec 25? We know He died on Passover, was buried on Unleavened Bread, and rose on First Fruits, but observe Easter. We are frightened to celebrate Pentecost, afraid we might start speaking in tongues. So now that Trumpets is 10 days away, we refuse to Watch, afraid God will rapture His church and all will come true. I've even had people joke that I hope He doesn't come this year because I have a cruise coming up in November.

There are people "watching" but they are very few. If the Rev 12 sign is in the sky as we speak, and this is a Jubilee year, and the UN will declare "International Peace and Safety" on Trumpets this year, then maybe, just maybe, some should look up as our redemption draws near. If He leaves us here another year, then we should watch next year at Trumpets. But on some Feast of Trumpets, the Trumpet blast will sound and the "wise virgins" will rise, and the foolish virgins will have to go where they buy and sell, because they weren't prepared to marry their Husband. If I proposed to my wife, and told her to be ready Saturday for me to come pick her up, and she refused to dress up, didn't fix her hair, wasn't peeking out the blinds waiting for me to drive up, I may honk the horn and she might not come out to meet me. Those people will be weeping and grinding their teeth at the opportunity they lost as they face the Beast and his head choppers. We should be LOOKING for His coming whether He comes or not.

I have a prediction. If you think there is no such thing as a "rapture", you won't be Raptured. If you think He will leave you here to suffer the Tribulation for 1260 days, you won't be Raptured. If you think He will wait until the Beast is killed to come get you, you won't be Raptured. Just as Noah was told to get in the Ark 7 days before the rain fell, God's children won't suffer one drop of His Wrath. The scoffers that didn't believe Noah, were left scratching and beating on the sides of the Ark as the rain fell. There is a direct connection between how much Bible study we choose to do, and how you will fare in the Last days. Lovers of God will be at the wedding as the Bride. Pew sitters that would rather fish or watch the NFL take a knee rather than assemble with others on the Sabbath, might say "I said the prayer when I was 12, so the God thing is taken care of", I'm not sure that is what God is looking for in a Bride. A servant does what they are told to do because they are told to do it, a lover does what they are supposed to do because they love their Lover. A servant can go to Heaven if they confess with their mouth Jesus is Lord, but Salvation and Rapture are 2 different things. Many marriages have failed because one or the other forgot their first love. Today, many lovers have become lukewarm thinking they have everything they need covered. The only church that is told they will miss the Tribulation is the one that loves the Lord with all their hearts, mind, soul, and strength, and loves their neighbor as themselves. If you aren't watching for His coming, do you really love His coming?

Thank you and I agree with you about the Roman calendar.

The Lord somewhat miraculously reminded me, some years back, of the real date of my “Christian birthday’, the day I accepted the Lord, as I had been thinking it was a different day and I had to look it up on a calendar to check it out; so you are right the Lord knows all the right days and dates etc.

The man who ruled Judaea, Samaria, and Idumaea from 4 B.C. to A.D. 6 was Archelaus, the son of Herod the Great. When Matthew refers to Archelaus he makes it clear that he is referring to the son of the man who tried to have Jesus killed.

Herod the Great was appointed king by Marc Antony and the Roman Senate in 40 B.C. (when the Parthians were in control) and captured Jerusalem in 37 B.C. So he reigned either 33 or 36 years depending on what you take as the starting point.

Archelaus was lucky--Herod had had 3 of his own sons executed. "Better to be Herod's pig than his son."

BTW, we see in the last chapter of Zach that God will call for the WORLD to come to Jerusalem for Tabernacles in the Reign of Christ on Earth, or receive a plague and no rain. Apparently Jesus wants us to celebrate His birthday. He will also move the Sabbath back to Saturday from Sunday, but I would have to look it up to say the address.

Do we know the dates of the Roman Census ordered by Augustus? Married couples had to go to the home town of the man.

The Jews were required to go to the Feasts in Jerusalem 3 times a year. Passover, Pentecost, and Tabernacles. I don't know about the Romans, but it make sense to me for them to call for tax collections at these times when Jews from all over would be in town. Jerusalem was about 600k strong at the time of Jesus, but on these Feast Days, they swelled to over 2.5 million. Collecting taxes and counting heads at this time would make Roman work much easier.

Bethlehem was only a couple of miles from Jerusalem and was where the Temple raised all their lambs for slaughter. Bethlehem means "House of Bread" ergo Jesus is the Bread of Life. He was the Lamb of God, so it was fitting He was born where the lambs came from.

He ordered several of them.

I think the one in 7BC is probably the one referenced but that is just my opinion and not to be confused with that of anyone who matters.

Augustus ordered a census throughout the empire. Joseph and Mary headed to bethlehem as instructed by the Romans (go to the town of the husband). if that was during December then it indicates where and when Jesus was born.

I guess he could have given a lot of time to respond given travel issues. but if we knew if it was like during the month of december that narrows down the birth month of Jesus.

Figuring the exact year is tough, but the time of year is possible through the Bible. Luke 1:5 speaks of Zacharias of the division of Abijah, was in the Temple. Going to 1Chron 24:10, we see Abijah was on duty in the 8th course, so we can know when Zacharias was in the Temple. We figure Elizabeth got pregnant about that time and John the Baptist was born most likely around Passover. Jesus was 6 mo. younger so that would put His birth around Tabernacles. Another give away was He was circumcised on "The 8th Day", which is a two day celebration at the end of Tabernacles. Also, "The Light of the World" was part of the Tabernacles Feast, as is "Living water" and other hints that Jesus fulfilled ALL of the Feast of Tabernacles Day prophesies.

Also, Trumpets is called many things by the Jews. They know it as the day the King gets Married. They know it as the day the King is crowned. They know it as the "Hidden day". They know it as the day the books are opened. A theme of Trumpets is the day of opening gates and doors.
