The fix was in to protect Justice Department officials as high up as the US Attorney General even before the Awan investigation started, FBI veterans with knowledge of the case now fear.
And so far President Barack Obama, who appointed the US Attorney in the District of Columbia who is slow walking the case, has proven insulated too from an investigation now on the fringes of exposing espionage and blackmail of Democratic members of Congress.
The US Attorney in DC is Channing Phillips, who worked for Loretta Lynch and Eric Holder in key roles during their tenures as US Attorney General. Phillips was appointed by Obama shortly before the Awan grand jury convened. The confirmation of Phillips’ replacement nominated by President Donald Trump has been stalled by Sen. Chuck Schumer for eight months.

I think there are many on BOTH SIDES of Congress who are complicit in this.
I recall reading in an article in Playboy, in the late 70s or early 80s, about a Congresscritter, who, IIRC, crashed his car, while drunk, in the company of a female escort. I think his first name was Wilbur, but it was a long time ago, so my memory is a little fuzzy.
This article mentioned that the DC po-po tried to hide him from TV cameras, so they would not see that it was a Congresscritter. That was SOP for the DC po-po at the time (District of Corruption), regardless of who the politician was and regardless of which party he/she represented. I cannot imagine that things have gotten any more.
I am absolutely certain that there is so much immorality amongst the high level politicians and their appointees, that the ‘District of Corruption’ makes Las Vegas look like a monastery! (’What happens in DC, stays in DC!’) There is likely so much corruption that someone has something on 95% of EVERYONE at the higher levels, hence the ‘Deep State’ paralysis. DJT, for all his faults (and we ALL have faults), is an outsider, trying to get the government back to a point where it is more BY THE PEOPLE and FOR THE PEOPLE rather than ‘by the insiders, for the insiders’. DJT is a danger to the intricate web of deceit and blackmail that exists within the 68.34 square miles that make up the ‘District of Corruption’ (and it’s environs).

These people are being brought in for a very specific purpose. That's why they filed a protective order on Imran. That's why they filed a protective order on Rao Abbas, he's from Pakistan. That's why the filed a protective order on Haseeb Rana.
That's why they filed 'State Secrets' but the Prosecution did NOT challenge. The Prosecution would have challenged - that would have made the Defense, that would have made the Defense say 'well, your honor, I'm going to bring in the FBI here, there's State Secrets involved because this is a program. This is a program where they are bringing kids in. Why else is Imran on that street with Rao Abbas at Manitoba in 1999 in Anthony Weiner's 'Inter-America Program'? Anthony Weiner didn't dream up the 'Inter-America Program', it was there before he got there. He was just an instrument in affecting it.
