Reports of the FBI seizing computer hard drives form the home of the congressional IT director and aide of Florida Democratic Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz are accurate, according to FBI sources: with the exception of one major detail. The computer hard drives were not damaged when they were confiscated, FBI sources said.
The FBI, who is working in some capacity to assist with the Capitol Police on the Awan investigation, confirm the hard drives and other computer equipment have been damaged but are pointing the finger at the Capitol Polices chain of custody with the evidence. The FBI, they said, would not damage evidence and stressed if someone went to the trouble of destroying evidence before a seizure they normally would discard of it as well, federal sources said.
Capitol Police officials would not respond to requests for comment.
The computer drives and equipment are linked to the Awan Brothers and Wasserman herself, according to law enforcement sources and media reports.
From the Daily Caller:
Pakistani-born Imran Awan, long-time right-hand IT aide to the former Democratic National Committee (DNC) Chairwoman (Wasserman), has since desperately tried to get the hard drives back, the individual told The Daily Caller News Foundations Investigative Group.
A high-level congressional source, speaking on condition of anonymity because of the sensitivity of the probe, confirmed that the FBI has joined what Politico previously described as a Capitol Police criminal probe into serious, potentially illegal, violations on the House IT network by Imran and three of his relatives, who had access to the emails and files of the more than two dozen House Democrats who employed them on a part-time basis.
Capitol Police have also seized computer equipment tied to the Florida lawmaker.
Awans younger brothers, Abid and Jamal, his wife, Hina Alvi, and Rao Abbas, Imrans best friend, are also under investigation. There have been no arrests in the case.
Journalist George Webb reported several weeks ago the Wasserman-linked computer hard drives had been seized as part of the Awan investigation. But there was never any mention the drives were physically altered. That would give additional credence to the FBIs account that the drives were in good physical condition at the time of the seizure.
Looks like the Capitol Police are part of the swamp.
yes it is
Rough Transcript:
George Webb: So, if you didn't follow the story - GatewayPundit, Mike Cernovich, InfoWars, DailyCaller, - they all had kind of derivative reports on the Daily Caller's Luke Rosiak saying the guy I met on the stairs that night, the Marine - they all quote the Marine, now - said that 'yes'. 'Not only was the one laptop, the one that Debbie Wasserman Schultz was talking about - but there was all these hard drives.
And - he did not - none of them reported the blackberries yet.
But I looked him 'right in the eye' and he said there was four or five laptops and about 20 blackberries in that cabinet out in the back. Right?
Now, the other interesting thing is he never said they were smashed
Jason Goodman: "Taggert?"
George Webb: "Taggert the Marine. No one still is reporting his name. Why are they suppressing Andre Taggart's name? I know the name of his wife - she's current Navy - and I didn't want to say her name to protect her identity. Why are they not releasing Andre Taggert's name?
Jason Goodman: "Why?"
George Webb: "Well, I have a good theory on that, but I'm not going to say it right now.
Anyway, the drives were not smashed at that time. They're admitting, the FBI's admitting now that they're in the case. Right? And, people are coming to me and saying 'hey, did you hear the FBI seized the smashed hard drives yesterday'?
They didn't seize the smashed hard drives yesterday. They did it 75 days ago (cross talk) when I reported on it. When they picked them up, they were in good condition and the FBI documentation will show that they were in good condition because Andre Taggert didn't say one word about the drives being smashed. The drives got smashed after they got into the hands of the Capitol Police. Bang.
Jason Goodman: "The Capitol Police smashed them?"
George Goodman: "Well, I don't believe that the Capitol Police smashed them at all. I believe the FBI smashed them. I believe that they were re-entered as evidence in the wacky raid on Huma Abedin's cousin's house in Michigan. They did a raid and are going to say 'oh, we got these hard drives there and they were smashed which about two months later, I think....
[skip forward]
Jason Goodman: So, wait a second, when you went to Taggert's house he said that he gave the drives to the FBI
George Webb: Yes.
Jason Goodman: His wife was in Naval Intelligence or something - who did his wife work for?
George Webb: Yes. Wife worked for Naval Intelligence.
Jason Goodman: Ok, he gives them to the FBI. How did the Capitol Police get them?
George Webb: Because the FBI then referred it over to the Capitol Police because they were trying to keep the story quiet. They were trying to keep the Awan Brothers story quiet. McCabe was trying to put a lid on this thing so he put it over in the evidence cage over at the Capitol Police. The problem with doing this crap is you are going to create footprints. There's going to be all kinds of people at the evidence cage at the Washington Police, the Capitol Police are going to say 'the drives weren't actually smashed when they came in the evidence cage' .
Jason Goodman Well then why would he give up control of them at all? If he gave them to the FBI, why not just keep them?
George Webb: Again, you would have to answer the question at a press conference. "Do you have an FBI investigation going on right now about the Awan Brothers?" If you're the FBI chief and you just seized all these hard drives, do you have an investigation going on? You'd say 'no' - and that's exactly what they did say. Why? Because they put the drives over at the Capitol Police. That's exactly why. They were shunting this thing. They were covering this thing up from day one. They put the drives over there. Then, when we pushed the story, Debbie Wasserman Schultz said, 'you better give us the drives back.' Remember? They tried to make it look like one laptop. When that story came out a couple days ago, with the dumb smile on her face, two days ago...I was the first person to say - oh, by the way, I think everybody remembers, it's recorded...'oh, by the way, there's a hell of a lot more laptops. Because I looked Andre Taggert in the eye - AND - there's 20 more blackberries - at least 20 blackberries.
So, now they're trying to do the same thing again. They're trying to say, well, there really is no blackberries...AND...you can't really use the hard drive evidence cause they're smashed. Right? Like Hillary's blackberries were smashed.

Shortly after the criminal probe of the Awan Bros. IT scandal was revealed in February, Imran abruptly moved out of his longtime home on Hawkshead Drive in Lorton, Va., and listed it for rent on a website that connects landlords with military families.
George Webb visited that rental home - and NEVER stated/implied/hinted at - the electronic devices being damaged in any way . . . .
George Webb discusses his interactions with a Marine identified as "Andre T", who rented that house from the Awans.
As a matter of fact, back on the 10th of April, George Webb visited that rental property located at 9667 Hawkshead Drive in Lorton, VA and posted actual video of his approach to this location at dusk.
and added this video report about that visit:
I believe it is worse than that. I think George W, Bill Clinton, and George HW, all hired left leaning people to work in the Federal government. I think we have to go back to Reagan to find a President that did not overtly hire leftists to work in the Federal government.
I think when Obama got there, the Federal management staffs had already been stacked in his favor, and they just went along with his agenda.
all this corruption is sickening . .

FBI agreed to destroy laptops of Clinton aides with immunity deal, lawmaker says - Oct.3,2016
"The Republican chairman of the House Judiciary Committee fired off a letter Monday to Attorney General Loretta Lynch asking why the DOJ and FBI agreed to the restrictive terms, including that the FBI would destroy the laptops after finishing the search."
The Capitol Police are Democrat thugs who covered up Vince Foster’s murder, countless crimes by drug-using government officials, and have never investigated the death of Seth Rich as a murder. It is not surprising that they destroyed evidence for the Democrat Party in this instance.
> I’m expecting people to say with a straight-face that the government would collapse if they charged everyone who was involved
You’ll hear it on CNN first.
In print, it’ll be a race between the NY Times and WaPo.
Yep. Been following him since he was looking for Eric Braverman.
Me too, when he was chasing Braverman. LOL
If it’s not fake, them this nation is in serious trouble.
.
>> “Smells like the Capitol Police are guilty of obstruction.” <<
As usual.
.
.
>> “That is unbelievable.” <<
Perhaps to one who has ignored the behavior patterns of the Capitol Police.
.
It’s going around, kind of like a virus (computer, that is): If they can’t protect the Powers one way, they’ll do it another.
Police are unionized; that means communistic. Chiefs are often flaming political leftists. So what if a blue on the street votes right? He has no power.
Look at Berkeley. Look at San Jose. The police are not our friends.
Shows you how stupid and incompetent the FBI is .... if they were competent, they would have copied the drives before they turned them over to the DC Crime Syndicate!
What the heck.
Or maybe that’s what they wanted to happen?
You got that right.
Bill Clinton, when he was the Arkansas Attorney General and in charge of the state troopers, knew how to pack that force with loyalists. Looks like the rest of the RATs have learned that lesson. At the very least this is obstruction and at worst high treason.
This and the murder of Seth Rich should be the leading stories every night, in a just world.
