The U.S. should NEVER put itself in that position. The Brits sent their civilian boaters to save them. Destroyers and most planes were left behind to 'save England.'
Make sure the Strategic Petroleum Reserve is always filled. Get the hell out of the Middle East with no more immigrints from that region. The Brits should get out of the Falklands. They have bigger fish to fry. Maybe we should al store food like the Mormons.
My history teacher, retired military, said Hitler should have bombed them all on the beach. Cost him the war.
YES!
“...Russia would have won without us...”
Without Lend Lease?
Without coming to an accord with Japan in 1941 that allowed them to release 30 divisions from the Mongolian front? And aforementioned divisions arriving just in time to affect the Moscow campaign, stiffening the Russian defense as bitter winter was closing, which combined to defeat the German hope for a 1941 victory?
Without having started Marita Merkur - the operation to conquer Yugoslavia and southern Europe - which delayed his invasion of Barbarossa by a month?
Respectfully sir, I disagree with your thought on this. The Germans lost the war in Russia, through a combination of bad decisions on their part, fortune and Circumstance.
For my part, the fact that Lend Lease provided 30 to 35% of their materiel support is enough to say that Russia could not have won that Front without us.
The JG
I don’t think they win if they bomb the beach. 300,000 men is a lot but the British fighting force peaked around 3 million. 10% loss at that stage in the war would be painful, but not fatal.
Except Berlin at that point HAS the bomb, and the rocket scientists. They might SEND a Fat Man, but they ain’t receiving one.
The lend lease act started in March of 1941. We had been building up military goods in preparation for war which came later that same year.
Once we entered the war it rapidly came to an end..
I doubt that it would have won the war. The major problem for the British was 8-10 divisions worth of equipment burned as they retreated to the beaches. I believe we helped them with that.
Dunno if it would have been a month, for even though. FDR was itching to get in, and he was right about the threat, but would have had a harder time if Hitler hadn't declared war.
I was eight years old when Pearl Harbor was attcked and even at that age I could see and almost feel the white hot rage against Japan. IMO, the rage was such that if Hitler hadn't of screwed up, the feeling would have been "Japan is our problem, Germany is Europe's, so first things first".
I have an IQ of 140. I am a veteran, airborne ranger, and have over 200 history books in my library. You are a moron. You may disagree with me but to insult me displays that you know nothing.
