On Monday's edition of 'This Morning' on CBS, "Science Guy" Bill Nye speculated about why so many people skeptical of climate change predictions. Nye said that the Earth could power itself renewably if we had the will to "change everything." Nye says such changes are always taking place:
"What I tell everybody, my grandfather went into World War I on a horse. He rode a horse," Nye said. "But nobody rides a horse [anymore]... Everything changed in two decades. So let's change everything. We can do this people. Let's go."
Nye also gets a chance to pitch his new book: 'Everything All at Once: How to Unleash Your Inner Nerd, Tap into Radical Curiosity and Solve Any Problem'
BILL NYE: [Climate change skeptics] are closing theiryour eyes to a situation you don't wish to acknowledge. Also, you guys for you conspiracy buffs, theres been an extraordinary effort by the fossil fuel industry to suppress the facts of climate change. But our claim on the on the engendering side is that there is enough energy in sunlight, wind, and a little bit of geothermal, a little bit of tidal energy to run the whole place right now renewably if we just decided to do it. And what I tell everybody, my grandfather went into World War I on a horse. He rode a horse. I guess he was not the worlds greatest horseman, but he did it. He lived through it, rode around at night around trenches in the dark. But nobody rides a horse for -- for a living.....

He is telling us we need to return to the pre-industrial world. All of this luxury has us procreating and living too long.
Nye you idiot, your grandkids will be riding horses into battle if you keep on this path.
That’s fine, Bill but it’s your parents I wonder about. I wonder if they were also siblings.
His blinding hate of Trump has turned what little is left of his brains to rice pudding.
If solar panels were 100% efficient and placed over massive areas, required no cleaning or upkeep, then maybe we could use solar for large scale energy. It also would require huge battery stores as electricity is used up the moment it is created.
My grandfather was in WWI. He told his kids they wouldn’t be here if he didn’t play dead in the trenches as the Germans jumped their horses over.
What side was Nye’s grandpa on?
Bill Nye is his grandfather’s horse’ rear end.
My grandfathers were both in the US Army. My one grandmother rolled bandages for the Kaiser.
I learned this only a few years ago, but my maternal great grandfather was the American recorder at the Armistice in 1918. First thing Hitler did was make France surrender in the same railcar.
It means he is an ignorant ass. The changes that came about came because people followed their own needs and wants. It wasn’t some grand government program designed to eliminate the horse because of some magical belief that horses were ruining the planet.
Green Lies Matter!
He has moldy tapioca for brains!
Completely nonsensical argument. Nobody I have ever heard or read has the slightest problem with Renewables. However anyone who can do sixth grade math can see that renewables are not adequate for our level of civilization and whether or not renewables are valid or not valid has nothing to do with whether the globe is warming. I mean, this is just nonsense pretzel logic.
Millions of people died from flu, typhus, and cholera after WWI and things changed in two decades.

After World War 2, the Morgenthau Plan was to de-industrialize Germany and make it a farming economy.
Once it was estimated that would eliminate 1/2 the population, the planners got cold feet.
Apparently modern liberals aren’t so queasy. Of course they would be allowed to live.
The Compiegne Armistice was in June 1940, so it wasn’t the first thing Hitler did.
The OSS/CIA cut Secretary Morgenthau’s plan off at the knees. It went nowhere fast.
