Yes, it would be Veterans Day, but I do not think a generic salutation is worthy of rebuke, especially when it does not mean anything negative. I have a good buddy who went to Germany and not Vietnam, so I am “Happy” I get to hug him on Veterans day instead of remembering him today.

I have a little thing that I do every time I see a soldier in uniform, whether I be at Costco, the airport or where ever.
I go up to them and say, “I just cannot believe this, today is my day to hug and thank a soldier and here you are.” I get the biggest hugs.
One time at the Colorado Springs airport there was about 7 soldiers, pulled my trick and got the hugs.
Grand daughters were with me and asked me if today was really my day to hug a soldier, told them everyday is my day to hug and thank a soldier.
God Bless our military.
MAGA!!!!
