In an interview with Salon, Rashad Robinson of Color Of Change admitted his organization's role in ousting Bill O'Reilly. If you're unfamiliar with Color Of Change, it's a black activist group co-founded by CNN pundit and former Obama aide, Van Jones. The group partnered with none other than David Brock's Media Matters to disseminate the contact information of O'Reilly Factor sponsors in an effort to have them drop their sponsorship. By creating a groundswell of fake outrage, Color Of Change was able to coerce Bill O'Reilly's sponsors into dropping support for his show and forcing Fox News to terminate his contract. These are the tactics being effectively used against conservatives by similar leftist groups across North America. Just over the past few months, we've seen sponsors terminate contracts en masse with Breitbart and Youtube due to outrage that was funded, manufactured and stoked by groups like Color Of Change.
Van Jones' employer, CNN, had an obvious heyday covering Bill O'Reilly's ouster. CNN pundits could barely contain their shadenfreude. Leftists on Twitter couldn't contain theirs either, as the Twitter-verse exploded with orgasmic celebrations and tweets about what a victory it was. To them, another conservative voice was silenced.
Since Donald Trump won, the left has been sharpening their swords and grooming their troops for battle in the trenches. They won't stop until we're all defeated. O'Reilly wasn't everyone's favourite, but he was an influential voice on the right. His show raked in an average of five million viewers a night, making him one of the most powerful talking heads on cable news. Now that he's gone, his time slot will likely succumb to MSNBC's All In With Chris Hayes, unless Fox finds a strong replacement.

BOR was a centrist. He kissed Obama’s half black a** right before the 2008 election when he had tons of information (Rev. Wright, Senate voting record, etc.) with which to confront him.
His show was stale and his guest aging. Time for him to go.
Tucker is far better.
Now to get rid of Shep Smith...
I think O’Reilly will redo himself, and show up in a bigger voice, and he will have reproduced himself, to have another 10 strong voices in different levels of the human experience saying similar things.
I guess Hannity will be next.
O’Reilly gave his opponents the hammer to hit him with.
BOTS R’ US
I hope O’Reilly does come back. While I thought him to be obnoxious I also thought he had an important role in drilling down and exposing hidden agendas. He was his own worst enemy in the end with his arrogance.
For Soros/Jones to have taken down O’Reilly, they would have had to pay for false accusations of sexual harrassment.
If those accusations are real, O’Reilly took himself down.
Soros/Jones may have pounced on a self-wounded O’Reilly, I don’t know. And maybe they did pay for false accusations. We saw the false accusations leveled at Trump.
But I’m inclined to think O’Reilly did this to himself.
I wasn’t a fan. At all.
But still the mechanics of getting rid of him are interesting. Once we recognize them we are more immune. Most of us “of a certain age” have never forgotten what they did to Judge Bork and as a consequence are unlikely to fall for it. People need to realize just how much of “public opinion” is fake and manufactured. We saw it with the attempted take-down of Trump, and ought to have recognized it with O’Reilly.
Still, O’Reilly is a grown man and gave his enemies the weapon. I can’t imagine Hannity ever being accused of anything similar, for example... Still, don’t doubt that they are out there right now digging for something to use against Hannity to take him out. And Tucker. With these two it might not be moral, it might be something else. Some ill-chosen word. And when they hit them with it and start pounding their advertisers and management, the temptation will be to cut them loose to make the pain go away. They will do it again and we have to be more energetic about defending even people we may or may not like that much. Because if we don’t eventually every voice “they” don’t approve of will be silenced.
I don’t like O’Reilly. But I’m sorry they took him out the way they did.
It’s already happening. Hannity is being accused...This crap has to stop!!!
In my opinion, he was huge still. It was the Maxine Waters wig comment that broke the camel’s back. Like Imus got suspended for his womens basketball team comment. I think BOR will be back.
Well put.
BOR did this to himself. People know sexual comments at work are way out of bounds. He just needed to keep his d*ck in his pants.
Glad we’ll have new blood and this fakeservative is gone.
No way a liberal would have been fired for doing the same thing though.
I don’t see NBC drooling to sign him like they did with Kelly after his scripted debate questions to Trump.
Fox News is OFF at my house. Time to let the channel go into the toilet like CNN, MSNBC and the rest of the RAT sewer stations.
If O’reilly had been president from 1992 to 2000 none of this would have mattered.
I guess we need a higher standard for commentators than we do for presidents with D’s by their names.
I agree. Rush did a study a year or two ago and proved that a handful of people (like 6-10) were able to run bots that generated tweets, emails, comments, etc.. that LOOKED LIKE tens of thousands of people. It's FAKE. But, it's effective... especially against scared advertisers.
It doesn’t matter whether we think O’Reilly is a conservative or a centrist or a liberal. The only point that matters is what our enemies thought of O’Reilly. They identified him as a conservative that needed to be removed.
They succeeded. Now they are emboldened. They won’t stop with O’Reilly. Our rationalizations that O’Reilly was no loss because he was a “centrist” are no consolation. What will we say the next time and the next time. We will rationalize each loss with a “he interrupted his guests” or “he was a pompous pill popper” etc?
Gloria Aldred,, Soros and their gang must be hunted down and destroyed. They are the greatest threat to our liberty. I stand with whoever they oppose.
I also have to wonder about the extent of the so-called harrassment as one woman was saiud he called her “hot chocolate”
if you can’t deal with that kind of comment maybe you should go live in a plastic bubble safe zone.
Hannity is next. Carlson is on the radar from a sexist tweet he made in 2010, and who knows what else.
It is time to stand and fight.
LOL. Did you read the article?
