Looks like Alabama’s governor is going to be impeached

Alabama Governor Robert Bentley has been on the ropes for a while now. The origins of the story all boil down to allegations of improper relations with an aide which… Okay. Let’s just say it. The guy cheated on his wife with one of his staffers before divorcing her and she was less than thrilled with his behavior. Since that doesn’t technically qualify as breaking the law, you’d normally not see him getting the boot from his job unless the voters decided to do it in the next election. But the initial deed led to some complicating factors which the legislature sees as grounds for removal. After one judge put a hold on any impeachment action, the state supreme court turned that around and ruled that they could move forward.

Alabama Gov. Robert Bentley will face impeachment hearings beginning Monday after the state Supreme Court gave lawmakers the greenlight to move ahead with an effort to oust the governor, who is fighting to stay in office amid fallout from an affair with a top aide.

The Alabama Supreme Court on Saturday reversed a short-lived victory for Bentley when a judge on Friday blocked impeachment proceedings. After the high court’s ruling, the House Judiciary Committee quickly announced plans to proceed with hearings on Monday.

Please use your head. Do you know ANYTHING about American politics? Where are you from? There is no redder state than Alabama. Why would you think they have a Democrat governor? (In case it still hasn’t sunk in, he’s a Republican).

Long sad story:

some girls must like parakeets, stems from a pet they had when they were young. McConnell’s state must have been poor and all the parents could afford were turtles.
But geez, just when Alabama needed a good governor....

Oh my gosh! Kay Ivey will then be governor. What is she, at least 100 years old?

Folks, she is a Republican, just really old. Back in ancient times, like most older Alabamian Republicans, she was a conservative democrat, when there used to be such creatures.

She's only 72. She just looks older.

Here she is, in her younger days:

Oh, you’re right! So, this is a plot by the RAT party to put in their stealth candidate into power. /jk sort of

Ivey, like Shelby and many other former RATS, only switched parties to maintain their grip on the government. We can expect no real conviction from them.

Well, perhaps.

However, I did know several conservative democrats from way back when, and they were VERY conservative. Not racist like so many would say, only that there where accepted ways like segregation that they didn’t give a hoot about one way or another, and where happy to see Jim Crow go.

Still, those folks were old when I was very young, and are all gone to the “Choir Immortal”. Yet I could NOT imagine them in the democratic party of today! There’s just no way. They’d still hate the party of that tyrant Lincoln, but they’d hate modern dems even more!!!

He is a Republican in the same mode as Georgia’s Governor Nathan Deal.

In the south, democrat politicians know they would never get elected running as democrats, so they register and pretend to be Republican. It’s the only way they can get into office.

I wish conservatives would do this trick in the northeast states. But they have too much self respect to do so.

“Reportedly, the governor’s advisor was paid $426,978 in 2014”

“governor’s advisor” ???? NOT! We know WHAT she is, and now we know the price.

Oh, by the way, the whore’s name is Rebekah Caldwell Mason.

Why can’t we Alabamians get a governor that advances our interests, not his own or his mistress’s?
