I started writing this yesterday morning, but had to take my wife shopping before I finished. When we got home I had way too many distractions to think. So I got a good nights rest and came into my office this morning to finish it.

After finishing it, I was struck by how shared my point of view. I almost deleted the article since it's now old news in today's world of ever changing news cycles.

I guess I don't feel so much like a kook as I did when I first started writing this though.

At least it was therapeutic.

And, FWIW, I agree with you. The entities that would benefit from this are mostly Sunni, who want to play “Let’s you and him fight” between the US and Russia. Turks and Saudis come to mind first. The Turks have means, motive, and probably opportunity.

The Israelis? Not really their style, and frankly, I think they’d rather have an uneasy peace with Assad than an ISIS-oriented entity in control of Syria.

I do not think trump is stupid. And I also think there is plenty of evidence strongly suggesting that Assad did not perform a gas attack.

What this means is that if Trump does respond militarily against Syria, either there is compelling evidence we don’t know about, or Trump is part of the problem.

One of the prime goals of the Obama administration was to get rid of Assad - because he was not willing to let ISIS have their way in his country.

Oops. Third option: Trump actually knows it wasn’t Assad and has no plans whatsoever to act militarily and has something completely different up his sleeve.

The initial reporting relies heavily on the testimony of one Dr. Shajul Islam

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/3541437/posts

He certifies that the people died of poison gas and that it was Sarin due to the constricted pupils in the eyes of the victims.

How credible is Dr. Shajul Islam?

Lets search his name and see what we find

Okey, dokey.

It seems the good Dr. Shajul Islam carries a bit of ISIS Jihadi baggage which may impeach his credibility a teensy weenie bit.

The first few articles of about 10 pages of google references on Dr. Shajul Islam

http://www.talkleft.com/story/2014/9/18/101216/218/wariniraq/ISIS-Major-Change-of-Hostage-Media-Strategy

http://nypost.com/2014/08/22/hunt-for-jihadist-who-killed-james-foley-intensifies/

http://www.thedailybeast.com/articles/2014/08/20/james-foley-s-executioner-was-one-of-many-british-jihadis-in-isis.html

Well, now I'm convinced beyond a shadow of a doubt that Assad and Russia didi the dirty deed /s

FWIW, Dr. Shajul Islam's NGO is funded in part by NGOs controlled by George Soros - I'm shocked

PS - the victims shown on the propaganda have dark blond hair. Dark blond hair is very uncommon in Arabs. It is, however, a signature, stand out feature of the Yazids people the ISIS Jihadi have been persecuting, exterminating and turning into sex slaves

What’s with this rush to war? It will end up another Libya or Iraq.

Assad would have to have the IQ of a gnat to use chemical weapons on his own people....sorry, even his Russian advisors would not agree to that move.

The real question is who is pushing this war on Trump and why?

I’m inclined to believe that the chemical attacks in Syria were perpetrated by ISIS. It doesn’t make sense that Assad would use chemical weapons without Russian approval and I don’t think Putin would okay such use. I think it’s more likely that ISIS is trying some last-ditch efforts to undermine, divide and weaken their enemies. Besides, ISIS has demonstrated repeatedly that they are more than willing to kill innocents to further their goals.

We know Fake News is about all you get from the RATmedia. I won’t believe this story until there is proof from a reputable source.

Listening to Savage just now and he asked the rhetorical question “who wants Assad and his air power gone? Who benefits the most?” Israel.....

Real persuasive, this doesn’t jive with the Russian excuse that a warehouse was hit. Might try to get the lies to line up; I guess defending a killer of American in Iraq as Assad was is more important to people.

Our UN ambassador may have made a fool out of herself if this was a typical terrorist trick - hide among civilians and stashes of WMD to get blown up.

At yesterday’s press conference with the King of Jordan, Trump looked like a gullible USEFUL IDIOT who has been totally taken in by the “Assad is killing Syrian babies” scam. I’m sorry, but there is no other way of putting it.

The Trump administration, which has had such a promising start, is about to be derailed by this (what should be transparent) scam conducted by the Islamist “rebels”. So is Trump about to do the dirty work for the Syrian Islamists, the Qataris, the Erdogan Turks and the Saudis. Is our American leadership THAT stupid and gullible?

Does Trump think that creating a path to victory for the Syrians Islamists (and the further chaos and mass murders that would produce); helping Erdogan conquer addition territory for his dream of a Greater Turkey Sultanate and helping the Qataris realize their dream of a pipeline to the Mediterranean Sea (to give them additional revenue to finance terrorists) is a GOOD IDEA.

PRESIDENT TRUMP, THINK OF ALL THE UNINTENDED (BUT FORSEEABLE) CONSEQUENCES OF THIS UNWISE ACTION.
