Head of the Creek
The water I jumped in was deep but we made a sport of it.
3 levels, all jumping into the same spot just seconds apart.
Yes, it was nuts but we had quite a good time. Very good swimmers and quite strong. No Drugs, No Alcohol.
Those were some good times.
Nope it's Norris, Tn can't you see the old TVA buildings?
Good Fishing up in there. Don’t tell anybody.
I tried reading it with a 10X jeweler’s loupe, but because the photo itself is of low quality and lacks definition, I am still unable to make any of it out. The “grecian key”-like designs on the square white building looks “old country”.
I knew from the photo that the area was in Northern Asia having spent two years in Korea and recognizing the foliage and the architecture. Someone posted Ulan Bator so I fired up Google Earth and zoomed in on the city and then started panning around until I found something the resembled the rooftop colors. Next, I went into street view and found the building with the four bill boards and voila, puzzled solved. Someone asked about the cords I posted — they are decimal degrees which differ from the common degrees, minutes, seconds (DMS) that one is use to seeing.
The best thing about the “Y” was walking around looking at all the “scenery” lying on the grass banks...8^)
I think I can see a hint of the lake in the far background...LOL
I just looked at your homepage...
No Charlie Daniels????????????????????????
C’mon now. Norris ain’t got nothing but a dam.
BTW, A good painting of the river system from the 30’s is hanging at the Loudon County P.O. FYI
Knoxville owns those TVA “Towers”. Knoxville also screwed up taking the prime real estate on the river. The people could be much better served destroying that crap and utilizing that land for big money.
Good Luck Knoxville on becoming smart.
Looks like Petros. Don't you see the prison and mountain behind it?
I used to date a girl from Petro’s. Of course that was in Casa Grande. :^)
Not only that, but how smart was Knoxville getting the 1982 Worlds Fair??? Look what happened to that property...
It was even lampooned on the Simpsons...
He's one of my favorites and I was a young teen when he did Uneasy Rider. LOL
My mistake...I see you have him under “rock”...I looked under “country”...
Embarrassed, I am...:^)
1982 Worlds Fair??? Look what happened to that property...
Worlds Fair Beer was also released at the beginning of the fair. 250,000 cases of beer was sold during the fair, totaling nearly 6 million cans sold over the six months. Rick Kuhlman, who was a marketing director for a beer wholesaler at the time, had come up with the idea for the beer. He had to presell 10,000 cases of the beer to pay for initial batch. The beer would go on to be released in nine different colored cans, beginning with red, then blue, and eventually, green, brown, gold, black, purple, yellow and orange. Each color represented its own production batch and when a color was sold out, that was it. The beer was often purchased and never drank, as people thought the cans would one day be a collectable. It involved beer so couldn’t have been all bad.
Funny you should say that. That city in the picture reminds me strongly of my view from the hotel window in Ulaanbaatar. The countryside certainly looks like Mongolia. However, I don't recognize any of the buildings.
And I loved Mongolia, definitely would go back if I ever have the opportunity again.
I happened to have drunk a couple of those...Rankest beer ever...Even worse than Pabst Red White and Blue....
Mongolia...
Glad That’s settled!
