He didn't come out and say exactly that, but it's what he didn't say that matters.
Devin Nunes has been brushing off all the personal attacks on him as he continues his investigation into the Trump surveillance scandal. I watched the bombshell go off yesterday on Fox News:
The U.S. intelligence official who unmasked, or exposed, the names of multiple private citizens affiliated with the Trump team is someone very well known, very high up, very senior in the intelligence world, a source told Fox News on Friday. The spying began before Trump was the nominee. Here is a series of Tweets from Adam Housley, courtesy of The Right Scoop:Intelligence and House sources with direct knowledge of the disclosure of classified names told Fox News that House Intelligence Committee Chairman Devin Nunes, R-Calif., now knows who is responsible -- and that person is not in the FBI.
For a private citizen to be unmasked, or named, in an intelligence report is extremely rare. Typically, the American is a suspect in a crime, is in danger or has to be named to explain the context of the report.
The main issue in this case, is not only the unmasking of these names of private citizens, but the spreading of these names for political purposes that have nothing to do with national security or an investigation into Russias interference in the U.S. election, a congressional source close to the investigation told Fox News.
And the worst part:
In addition, citizens affiliated with Trumps team who were unmasked were not associated with any intelligence about Russia or other foreign intelligence, sources confirmed. The initial unmasking led to other surveillance, which led to other private citizens being wrongly unmasked, sources said. Now for some very interesting coincidences. There is a fascinating nexus in these events. First, we have Evelyn Farkas, who admitted collecting data on Trump:"Unmasking is not unprecedented, but unmasking for political purposes ... specifically of Trump transition team members ... is highly suspect and questionable, an intelligence source told Fox News. Opposition by some in the intelligence agencies who were very connected to the Obama and Clinton teams was strong. After Trump was elected, they decided they were going to ruin his presidency by picking them off one by one."

And still they lost.
Even if the house intel committee somehow decided to publicly agree that crimes were committed (unlikely that they'll ever agree on that since they're so partisan) there's nothing Congress can do about it.
The FBI sure as heck wouldn't arrest any leftists as long as Comey is in charge there, and Sessions is recused from the whole "Russian connection" thing which loosely could be construed to include this.
So... no matter what the committee turns up its pretty much pointless... Trump can't do a damned thing... unless he can get rid of Comey and/or get deputies under Sessions confirmed in the Senate... neither of which will happen with 99% of Congress being against Trump.
Its very frustrating that we all know what Obama and his people did, and that there's not a darned thing America can do about it. The left will run with the "Trump's a Russian agent" narrative forever.
Trump is doing this for maximum entertainment value...love it.
The most interesting part of this is not what Schiff said- it was just more of the same whining about the process that democrats have been clutching at for the last few weeks. And that means you have a weak hand.
Its what he didnt say.
There was no bluster, no personal attack, no hyperbole about fake news or fake intel. There were no denials.
In other words, Nunes is right. The unmasking and leaking- it was all political. Its only being cast as national security.
And its about to get whole lot bigger.
They lost because there was nothing to use against Trump. Trump isn’t a political type that folds under accusations. He is a fighter.
So if it’s not the Russians, is it possibly an act of war by someone else? Check with Cheney.
Shifferbrains
I like that. 8>) Good catch too, using his name that way, I might add.
This is a BIG STORY at Fox News and the popular conservative website Freerepublic.com.
I have seen nothing on Drudge and that is surprising. Maybe I just missed it. Not so surprising is the MSM where it is very quiet with the single exception of endless stories about Nunes and his “incompetence”.
As to the content of the Classied Reports and the potential identification of the person who did the unmasking of the Trump team members I see nothing. But maybe I’m just not looking hard enough.
Asd to that the “mama media” telling drones watching TV that all is fine with Obama daddy, he is a god man.... smh.
Why would Sessions be recused if the spying and unmasking had nothing to do with Russia?
What I don’t understand is why Nunes doesn’t come out and say who the person is that unmasked the names. As far as I can see, for him to name the senior intelligence official who did this is not a crime. Why is Nunes protecting this person? Is there some political advantage to doing so?
Stop playing politics (if that is what is happening) and give this information to the American people. We deserve to know.
I am sick and tired of politicians ON BOTH SIDES OF THE AISLE who think that they are so superior and the only ones capable of knowing things. Keeping all these secrets is what gives them “power”. Let’s return the power to the people, stop hiding things, stop protecting perps.
Because the left claims that any snooping on Trump was a rightous investigation into Trump’s Russian connection. We can’t prove otherwise because the intel agencies won’t talk and no one independent is allowed to see the stuff.
They figured they could easily bury Trump like most other politicians by digging into thier past background and spying on them. This technique would have destroyed any other politician. It certainly worked on Heman Cain.
Every one of the Senate and congress are in on the game. Nunes did what was correct and necessary and they are trying to crucify him. He is pretty tough. Not getting too much cooperation. everyone wants their payout.
Sessions never should have recused himself in the first place, its one of the more annoying aspects of this witch hunt.
