Sen. Ted Cruz wasted no time mincing words on what he thinks about the three phases of the American Health Care Act Sunday morning on Face the Nation.
That aint gonna happen, Cruz told host John Dickerson when asked about the 3-phase plan President Trump and House Republicans have been pushing since the roll out their non-repeal and replacement of the Affordable Care Act.

Poor Ted. He doesn’t realize the only reason he gets to grandstand now, is because the guy he didn’t want to support got elected, and so now issue is on the table.
Hmmm, maybe there was a reason to go all out for him last year.

Exonerated by what? What has Cruz actually done other than grandstand and demand perfection? Where is his bill?
To: DoughtyOne
See post 23.
I think cRuz has seen the writing on the Trump Wall and is more than happy to play along w/Trump’s plan.

Are you kidding?!!! Cruz stood ALONE to filibuster the spending on Obamacare on the senate floor. An action NOT taken by others. Where where THEY!

The whole idea of replacing obamacare is absurd. It needs to be totally repealed and all the portions of other laws through which parts of o-care were implemented need to be repealed and the whole medical field as well as the insurance field need to be turned over to the free market. I include Medicare on which I must presently rely and medicaid and ultimately VA medicine. With the market operational again the care owed to the vets can be supplied far more efficiently with vouchers.
Just leaving o-care alone is superior to replacing it just as replacing cowflop with sheep pellets doesn't help anything but has wasted even more resources.
There should be NO positive legislation for medicine or insurance. It should only be negative, the repeal and dismantling of extant government rules and structures. The only legitimate Constitutional interference by the government is in the matter of guaranteeing weights and measures which by extension might include truth in content rules.

The way to really kill Obamacare, is to mandate that the Senate and Congress immediately have to go onto the plan, and their Cadillac plan ends.
YES YES YES to this!!! Simple, understandable and impossible to vote against and not look foolish.

Maybe he’s the stink bomb thrower. As restitution.

The Cruz supporters, who were incessantly mocked and derided here on FR, are increasingly being exonerated. We are certainly being exonerated by events but not by our critics.

Health care is not a human right and the govt has no business providing it, not even if it were 100% voluntarily funded.
If the people only had the backbone to refuse to comply...well, they haven’t.
The founders of this nation understood that liberty must be fought for, and that the fight can be supremely inconvenient. And they are gone from the scene.

Almost $1900!
And after paying over $22k in premiums, he still has to meet a huge deductible. Probably $6-8k?
He’s pretty much uninsured except for catastrophic events.
Except he’ll be out $100,000 in just 4 years...

I recall being tarred “liberal” here at FR for suggesting Cruz was the most philosophically conservative candidate available.

It would be interesting to know what Trump conveyed to him when they met recently.
I would imagine this issue was raised.
It has been my thought (and others have expressed it too), that Trump backed Ryan’s plan so that when it failed, he wouldn’t get blamed for it.
Then he could back something like Paul’s plan and folks wouldn’t reject it out of revenge toward Trump.

And some are still stuck on the primary. They refuse to move forward. They’d rather sit around and call Cruz names. Oh well.
