NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) — The city’s five borough district attorney’s are considering scrapping thousands of open warrants from the record.
The open warrant number has climbed to 1.5 million, mostly for low level offenses including drinking in public, spitting on the sidewalk, and public urination.

About a year before his death, late Brooklyn District Attorney Ken Thompson said anyone with an open warrant who is stopped by police would end up in central booking, which landed many men of color in jail for failing to pay small fines or responding to court summonses, WCBS 880’s Kelly Waldron reported.
With President Donald Trump’s immigration order, some attorneys say these warrants are increasingly dangerous for non-citizens who could face deportation.
But the New York Times is reporting the NYPD is pushing back because they don’t want to give up their so called “broken windows policing policy” because they say it can help pin down dangerous suspects.

Probably too much trouble to hear and prosecute each case. There's also a strong possibility they have too many laws on the books and can turn just about anyone into a criminal too.
Sickening. The government will hound true citizens to their death bed and after with criminal punishments and tax penalties but shower illegals with free money and gifts of forgiveness. Soon there will not be enough trees or rope in this country.

They’re also supposed to be issuing cash payments up to $150 per person in New York City to anyone who received such summonses which were later dismissed by a judge on the grounds of insufficient cause, or whatever the reason is called.
As opposed to Berkeley's "broken windows policing policy": If you let the blackshirts break enough windows, the annoying right-wing Jew will be forced to shut up.
Illegals in NYC constitute a large the population. How many illegals do you suppose are on those rolls? This is an end run around Trump’s EO.

It is against the law to spit on the sidewalk but vomiting on the sidewalk is perfectly legal.
