The entire thing was planned and approved during the Obama administration. It just happened that the first moonless night was days after Trump was inaugurated.
What President Trump is saying is there is a grieving family that doesn’t need McCain trying to gain the spotlight over the body of their loved one
All those brave men who flew the skies of Vietnam in anonymity and came home unscathed were never publicly proclaimed heroes. He gets shot down and begins cooperating with the enemy and gets to be called a hero.
If he was ever a hero - and we can give him his due for the combat flights over VN - it ended with his first confession.

John McCain is exempt from criticism?! Did that apply in 2008? Gawd knows he’s done a lot that deserves criticism. A lot. His signature senatorial achievement was passing an eponymous bill that limited free speech.
LOL, at best, “hero” means you had one good day. It isn’t license to be a traitor, a lout, and a bribed politician forever and it doesn’t make you an expert on any other topic.

Being a POW doesn’t make you a hero. A POW can do heroic things and attain that status. But just being a POW in itself doesn’t make you a hero.
For example, the British military in WWII stopped the pay of anyone taken prisoner. Let that sink in.
