Democrats and liberal media outlets shed major crocodile tears this past weekend after 109 of 325,000 foreign passengers were detained at US airports over the weekend.
This was very odd because Obama banned Iraqi refugees for six months in 2011 and Democrats said nothing.
On Monday Starbucks Corp CEO Howard Schultz announced that the company would hire 10,000 refugees over the next five years to ease the companys conscience.
This announcement violates EEOC rules.
And several conservatives have vowed to boycott the liberal coffee company.
Now the Starbucks stock is in freefall since the announcement.

I’ve been a diehard Starbucks drinker for years, but no more.
You are using Free Republic to defend an illegal/criminal action, hiring illegals.
Forget your and Starbuck’s pc term refugee. The question is, “Are those hires and potential hires here in America illegally.”
What Counts as Hiring an Illegal Immigrant?
Under federal law, it is illegal for any employer to engage with illegal immigrants in the following manner:
Hiring illegal immigrants.
Recruiting illegal immigrants.
Referring illegal immigrants for work and receiving a fee
This also includes hiring contractors who use illegal immigrants. There are criminal and civil penalties associated with this conduct.
It is also illegal for employers to not verify work authorization. Three days after an employee is hired, employers should correctly complete an I-9. Failing to do so will subject employers to criminal and civil punishment.
What Are the Penalties for Hiring an Illegal Immigrant?
Hiring illegal immigrants can lead to many severe penalties, such as:
Criminal and civil fines
Loss of business licenses
Most fines are broken down to the following:
First offenders can be fined $250-$2,000 per illegal employee.
For a second offense, the fine is $2,000-$5,000 per illegal employee.
Three or more offenses can cost an employer $3000-$10,000 per illegal employee. A pattern of knowingly employing illegal immigrants can mean extra fines and up to six months in jail for an employer.
This does not include harboring illegal immigrants, or employing ten or more illegal immigrants in one year. Harboring an illegal immigrant can lead to ten years of prison time.
Additionally, employers should be aware of the Racketeer Influenced Corrupt Organizations (RICO) Act. Employers can be sued under the act for hiring illegal immigrants, and can face large settlement deals.
The lawfully documented workers of the Zirkle Fruit Company recently settled a class action lawsuit brought under RICO. The suit alleged that their employer knowingly hired undocumented workers, driving down their wages.
What If the Illegal Immigrant Is Using a False or Stolen Identity?
Illegal immigrants who seek employment often engage in identity theft in order to work in the United States.
Employers are required to make a good faith effort to make sure that their employees are legally permitted to work in the country. Good faith efforts include checking social security numbers and making sure the numbers are valid.

Dollar General store sells Donut Shop Blend ground coffee. $3 for 13 oz.
cans. Homemade and good!
Could not happen to a better Commie.
I plan to buy my coffee elsewhere.
At the close on 26 Dec (When this statement was made), it lost about $2. While I agree, it’s not a “Freefall”, it is a significant loss.

“Refugees” in their context, implies those of certain national origins.
In fact, the CEO made it quite clear that the “refugees” were members of the countries included in the executive order the CEO was complaining about.
And, unless specifically required for the job, you cannot even ask about things like national origin in the pre-employment process.
So if SBUX wants a refugee, and someone claims that status, how do they know they’re getting the “right” refugee without asking about national origin?
I am happy to announce that I have no plans to boycott Starbucks over this latest anti-President Trump outrage.
Why? One can’t boycott a company whose stores one never enters and whose product I never buy. I went to a Starbucks in the late 90s and found the coffee to be horrible tasting. It was worse than any coffee I ever had during 20 years in the US Army, including the coffee the cooks made while we were on field maneuvers.
I LOVE McDonald’s coffee!!! MUCH better than Starbucks
Ban means the end of the “wet foot, dry foot” policy which has been in place for decades. This was an 0bama sop to Castro, and a slap at the Cuban people.
Those 0bama sent back are likely not with us any longer.
And Wawa’s Regular blend ain’t bad either - especially when Wawa holds it’s special coffee events - any size cup for $1.29......
Just a suggestion.
And Kwik Trip...much better at Kwik Trip. I rarely drink Starbucks coffee. It always tastes burnt to me.
Me too. And I’ve not heard good things about the coffee. Burned, etc.
Agreed, it uses its cup and logo as a symbol of affluence and the fact that you are willing to pay more from an allegedly yuppie (+ Wi-Fi) coffee company.
Yes, it is overpriced, and not a value.
“If they are not citizens or here with a valid Visa, hiring them is against the law.”
If a person is granted Refugee status in the United States, they are in the country legally. When a person is admitted to the country as Refugee, they are required by law to apply for a Green Card.
With a Green Card, they can work here legally.
I don’t buy anything at Starbucks but I vow to find another restroom when I’m out!!! So there!!
Makes me smile that they are feelin the Target restroom vibe already.
People admitttd to the country as Refugees are not illegal aliens.
Last McDonald’s coffee I bought, I left it on the outside table for anyone to take. Undrinkable.
I do like Starbucks but will boycott awhile.
May their fortunes follow those of Penneys and K-Mart.
