Ford put a time box around his Pardon to cover Watergate. Obama could follow that Pardon like it was a Form Letter. Handy for the future!

The problem with Hillary accepting a pardon is that this once invincible power couple would have the historic “distinction” of one being pardoned and the other being impeached. Not exactly the footnotes to a legacy you want.

Yes, he can give her a blanket pardon.
It has been done before.

I think what trips people up (at least it does me) is that most people know of the president’s ability to pardon, but blanket pardons seem inherently unfair. Part of the mind says, “no way should the president be able to pardon someone without specific crimes listed.” At least for a justice-minded individual.

When there is no crime charged, how can you get a pardon?

If there is this blanket pardon in the next three weeks, four weeks from now the AG could find a crime and charge IMO. I think an AG could move toward then. How could there be a double jeopardy?

Also, how corrupt does Obama look pardoning Clinton’s for anything?
ANY crime Obama pardons would represent and acknowledge that Obama and the DNC knew of all along that Hillary was a criminal while running for President.
Is the president going to pardon a criminals known as Hillary and Bill Clinton who ran for Presidenr as Democrats? That will further destroy the Democrat party for what?

So it just needs to come out that Obama was really born in Kenya and not eligible to be President, so all of his actions for the past 8 years are invalid, including a pardon for Hillary. Then Obama and Hillary can both be locked up.

Pardon for what? I mean, she claims innocence of any crime.

Handy, no doubt. Where do blanket pardons end though? Say an anarchist gets elected (anything is possible these days). Can he pardon all people for all crimes committed between 1850AD and 10,000AD? Ridiculous example, I know, but blanket pardons are ridiculous in a just society. But, as they say, c’est la vie.

And why did the rats not want to challenge Nixon’s pardon? Because they knew the proceedings would show something they didn’t want to talk about. So it was negotiated behind closed doors for Nixon, a secret pardon.

So she is trying to repeat the process. I am sure there is a lot going on, not just discussion with Zero.

So the question remains with Trump and his administration and what they do........................

Lots of differences between the current situation and Nixon. We are not tired of the fight, we are just starting, we have nothing to lose..............

So if he pardons her then that is an admission on his part that he endorsed a criminal for President.

Absolutely does not matter. You or I might see it that way. To the left, it would simply be President Obama protecting Saint Hillary from those mean Republicans.

To the Independents, it would mean, she is teflon, and can get away with anything. Obama did it just to make “peace”, because he is black, and has to support Hillary, because she is a woman, or some such.

It would not be seen as a reason to disparage Obama or Hillary, at least not much of a reason.

The beauty of a Hillary Pardon is two fold ... 1-We can put it behind us and move forward fixing problems and MAGA w/o this preceived vendetta 2-In the Court Of Public Opinion it is an admission of Guilt. No more denying it, no more spin, and her political goose is finally cooked.

Sadly I am not that gracious. I want her law license pulled, as an up yours, that is the least. she deserves, but with BHO they wouldn't art of the deal that.

^^^ This ^^^

She won’t be immune to future lying and obstruction of justice, nor can she plead the 5th for anything prior to the pardon.

The incoming DOJ will have many ways to go after Clinton even if pardoned.

She would run after a pardon? Accepting a pardon would be a de facto admission of guilt. Right? Just can’t see her running again in this situation.

She has no shame, she'd run in a heartbeat.

It was mentioned in another thread that the crimes will still need to be investigated, even if Hillary is pardoned. Bottom line she is finished even if she avoids jail time. Being pardoned isn’t a very strong sales feature for ones persona.

Unfortunately that’s what happened to Nixon.

However, if the Clinton Foundation is a criminal enterprise and continues to operate after the pardon, I don’t think the pardon could cover for those future crimes.

Well, the foundation itself cannot be pardoned, right? If that is the case, lawsuits could expose the evil therein.

The president cannot pardon for future acts, only for past ones, and only for federal crimes, not for state crimes.

There are limits to the Presidential pardon power.
