Even if FBI Director James Comey had 100 agents reading collating and considering the 650,000 emails in the new investigation into Hillary Clinton’s handling of classified material, it is hard to see how this much material could have been properly digested and done justice in the ten days he had to work on the Weiner/Abedin systems.

And even if he did have these agents completely dedicated to this new investigation, the numbers say it was an impossibly Herculean task that does not pass the smell test.

Research shows, “The average college graduate stops 75 times to read each of his 100 words. Great compared to the 3rd grader, but slow and boring and inefficient.”

Assuming that each email is one hundred words (which might be a low number), that comes to 65 million words to read. FBI agents are college graduates and most are lawyers; but it is hard to imagine them speed reading through material as critical to the nation’s wellbeing as these 650,000 emails.

If we allow for turnover time, handling these emails, whether printed out in the worst case or on a computer screen in the best, the time we can reasonably assign to reviewing each email has to be two minutes for those considered frivolous and much more for those immediately deemed important. Anyone who has done this type of plodding, searching review, requiring sifting through mountains of words, knows this is the case.

Reason says that even some the shortest emails of fifty words or so might require an extended period of say three minutes to weigh their contents for relevance in a larger context.

Thereafter those deemed suspicious would require a “Stop the presses” conference which would eat up more time. When such an inevitable stoppage occurs, everyone at the table...

Agree. Also its conceivable Huma received emails from Hillary on another device, and forwarded them to this computer while removing the from info.

I do this all the time when I forward jokes etc from others to myself of others I want to share them with to protect email addresses of others in case of virus hits my computer and to prevent them from getting spam etc.

Comeys letter talked about To or From Hillary. If that data is taken off then he’s using clintonian parsing to explain his miracle review of all the info..

If the FBI dropped the hammer now, the preezy will issue a pardon. With no indictment, no pardon will be issued.

I want to believe that Trump/Comey have outsmarted HRC! This is going to be great fun.

They've explained it on the grounds that they use scanning software which filters out duplicates (via an identifying code) that they've already reviewed from other sources, and which eliminates emails to persons who are outside the scope of the investigation, etc.

That seems reasonable up to a point, but why then did it take them months to evaluate earlier troves of emails? And even after the automatic filtering is done, I would think you'd have to manually read what was left over, which was probably tens of thousands of emails.

Doesn't really matter....Nothing would happen and realistically, it just pushes the present to BEFORE Comey's July statement. In other words...he's NOT influencing the election.

The real legal case will be about the Clinton Foundation...and people will go to prison.

I believe that win or lose, Obama will issue a blanket pardon of Hillary (a la Ford's pardon of Nixon). In Nixon's case, there had been no convictions or indictments. It covered any crimes that he might have committed during his presidency. With that precedent, Obama can virtually wave a magic wand. Furthermore, he will pardon Cheryl Mills, Huma Abedin, Loretta Lynch, the Bleachbit guys, the IT guys, well, everyone. What can anyone do about it? I still say that there should be an amendment to the Constitution which provides for a review of presidential pardons. I don't know what the format should be, but, let us say, a pardon can be nullified if say one-third of Congress votes that the pardon was not an 'arms length transaction'. In other words, a president who pardons individuals who could potentially testify against him could have the pardon nullified if a large enough minority (I don't think that this should require a majority) of Congress had reservations about it.

Of course there is another school of thought that if Hillary loses, she can do nothing more for him, and he will let her twist in the wind. I doubt this, because, being a Clinton, she no doubt has the goods on him.

Comey did not come to an honest conclusion, but that was never his intention. But what about all those FBI agents who “revolted” against Comey’s July decisions? I think it was all smoke and mirrors in collusion with Hillary.

BO will make the case it is all a political witch hunt and grant a blanket pardon. The elites on both sides of the aisle and the media will go along with it. He will be protecting himself in the process. HRC will grant him the same if she wins and his crimes come to light. That would protect her as well. They all rise or fall together.

The timing of the FBI’s announcements smells much more like the director negotiating for his pay off, or it is all orchestrated by the Dems as a Hail Mary to distract the electorate for the last few days before the election.
