I love the term “native American.” My family are white Anglosaxon native Americans.
A NA is a settler, someone whose ancestors entered an unpopulated land and began homesteading.
Just as settlers from the Russian land bridge settled in this land, my ancestors came through the Jamestown colony, migrated north to the central Chesapeake Bay eastern shore and settled near Cambridge, just outside Church Creek in a little spit of land known as World’s End. They were the first people to ever inhabit that area. They established an unbroken claim to the land for me and my clan as true native Americans.

I was born here, I am a native American, and so are my forbears back to the 1600s. I'm not any less native than the displaced aborigines who scalped my pioneer forbears that were imposing some form of discipline on the existing hand-to-mouth degenerates, the pre-existing inhabitants who lacked inventivenes, and only kept moving on from their camp sites after filling them up with excrement rather than burying it.

We made it what it is, up to the point where Emma Lazarus invited the huddled masses yearning to be free from the czarist tyrants of eastern Europe, and the wretched refuse of the teeming Mediterranean shores started coming and screwing up the plan for a truly free land under Christian government. They've almost completed the job of destroying our Pilgrim religion and our Puritan principles. They've almost won out. I guess it's too late to send Lazarus and all these other bilge-drinkers from southern and eastern Europe back to where they came from. Eh? /sarc
