All through the FBI investigation into Hillary Clintons private bathroom email server and the exposure of classified information, I tended to take a wait and see attitude and gave FBI Director James Comey significant benefit of the doubt, if not outright praise at times. He was digging up a lot of information and, as I saw it, going out of his way to keep the public informed as to what was being found and the direction the case was taking. Even at the end, while highly dubious about his conclusion, I found myself having at least a bit of sympathy for him when considering the mountain he would have had to climb in bringing charges against a presidential candidate in the middle of a heated campaign, not to mention the potential backlash from the various allies of the Clintons.
Since that time however, weve learned more and more about all the maneuvers which took place, largely to the benefit of Hillary Clinton and her staff. Some were truly spectacular in their jaw dropping nature and now it sounds as if at least some of the agents in the Bureau are fed up with Comeys handling of the case. The New York Post spoke to some of them and describes them as being nearly in open revolt.
Veteran FBI agents say FBI Director James Comey has permanently damaged the bureaus reputation for uncompromising investigations with his cowardly whitewash of former Secretary of State Hillary Clintons mishandling of classified information using an unauthorized private email server.
Feeling the heat from congressional critics, Comey last week argued that the case was investigated by career FBI agents, So if I blew it, they blew it, too.
But agents say Comey tied investigators hands by agreeing to unheard-of ground rules and other demands by the lawyers for Clinton and her aides that limited their investigation.
In my 25 years with the bureau, I never had any ground rules in my interviews, said retired agent Dennis V. Hughes, the first chief of the FBIs computer investigations unit.
The list of perceived sins which have angered some of the agents is lengthy. One of the most recent (and perhaps worst) was Comeys choice to agree to destroy Cheryl Mills laptop after an investigation into its contents was severely limited. The agents also cite the number of witnesses who were offered immunity in exchange for testimony, including some who might have wound up being targets of the investigation themselves. Thats understandable in many criminal cases because youre willing to let some of the smaller fish walk if they help nail down the primary target. But as noted in the interviews, the agents were quick to point out that some of these immunized witnesses still suffered critical memory lapses when recounting the events surrounding the handling of the server.
I still find it difficult to believe that the fix was in and Comey intentionally let Clinton off the hook out of some loyalty or lack of objectivity. Perhaps Im just naive, but the man stood on a long and distinguished record of service before this all began, spanning administrations from both parties. He simply doesnt strike me as the sort of person who would sell out his integrity that cheaply. But that doesnt mean that he didnt turn tail and back off when the job looked too tough to drag across the finish line. And if some of his agents see this as damaging to the reputation of the Bureau, its hard to blame them.
Utterly corrupt from top to bottom.
Exaclty, this is a bunch of bull. The entirety of the American Gov’t is corrupt, from top to bottom, military included.
Everybody likes their paychecks.....
The big dogs in any organization have enough years in that they can retire and then call a press conference.
Why hasn’t this happened with the FBI?
Because they’re Democrats before they’re Americans.
That’s how Democrats are.
It won’t happen. FBI at any level close to the Clinton investigation are complete “company men” and total careerists.
N word please
Pull the other one, it’s got bells on it.
They are traitors to this nation.
The FBI is now just a political action committee oft eh DNC.
I hope the bad guys get every last one of them.
Atlanta Olympics, 1996:
An overweight security guard Richard Jewell finds a bomb in a crowded Atlanta park, an act of terror. He alerts the cops, but the bomb goes off and a desperate Bill Clinton facing a reelection bid ORDERS the FBI to simplify things by making Richard Jewell the perp.
Knowing Richard Jewell revers real cops the FBI brings him in for questioning, finally pretending to relent and accept his story of innocence. They then flattered him and lowered his guard by chatting him up in grand style like A Law Enforcement Colleague.
The FBI then claimed to Jewell that they were making a Training Videotape simulation in which a perp under questioning breaks down and confresses to a bombing, Ah shucks, our actor crapped out, got sick, say Richard, would ya help us FBI guys out..? A micrometer away from consenting to help them with their training video, Jewell suddenly realizes if he cooperated with his friends, they might turn around use the tape against him in the world famous bombing that just transpired.
He calls his ex-roomate, a lawyer, who admonishes Jewell that hes in very grave danger. He leaves the FBI questioning and AVOIDS LIFE IN PRISON BY A WHISKER.
YOUR FBI IS **FINE** ACTING AS AN INSTRUMENT OF POLITICAL TERROR.
It started at least 20 years ago.
In 1993, 80 people and 22 kids died in this FBI fire with ambulances and fire crews kept away.
While filming, they then raised the flag of the ATF on the still-smoking embers.
No one from the FBI faced any punishment.
Make that five.
Would not have worked even with 5!
Lawyers
Fat government pay, early retirements with big pay
Platinum health care, versus
Principle?
Will believe it when I see it.
If I’m President Trump on Jan 20 I’d fire all 140 of them. They had their chance.
Is this the same FBI that asked somebody to make them a sawed off shotgun and when he did they shot his wife in the head? Or am I thinking of a different FBI?
Amen.
Lois Lerner destroyed the credibility of the IRS.
Comey destroyed the credibility of the FBI.
only the last one helps them in the end.
