Hacked. My computer has been seized by ransomeware. Phone is 866 760 0416. What do I do? Can't respond just read.

Probably safest thing if you don’t have a system backup is to get any valuable files off of there of you haven’t already and use recovery media to reinstall windows from scratch.

Do you have backups? You will need to restore if you do.

Just a warning, if you have an external backup drive I would NOT plug that in until you have made sure you got rid of the virus. You could get that encrypted as well.

Not going to be able to offer specific recommendations without more info. Like OS, backup systems, which ransomeware, networked computer, etc.

There are some trojans that are spoof ransomeware, so knowing what you have is important.

When it happened to me I reloaded from a backup disc.

Two quick considerations: if your personal data (pix, documents, etc) are backed up somewhere else, and you have the operating system disk, slick your system completely and start over. If there are data on the disk that are irreplaceable, you've messed up, and you may find yourself in the position of having to pay the ransom or kiss the data goodbye.

Your best defense against this sort of thing is (1) make frequent backups, and (2) keep copies of your most important data on removable media such as thumb drives so they aren't physically available to be hijacked. Hope it works out for you, and if I can help FReempmail me when you can.

Hard drives are cheap. Pull yours and put it in an external case. Install a new one internally and load a clean system. Then access the bad drive externally. Use a file program to access the external disk and get your data files off of it, then reformat it.
