Why would a Libertarian care? They are Isolationists. He plans to cut Defense spending.

Not that I care because I know this clown wont get 2% of the vote at best.

But the truth is:

Prior to yesterday. I would bet dollars to donuts that 95% of Americans couldn’t have told you what Aleppo is.

At least with Johnson, he can blame his memory problems on being on ‘the chronic’ for so many years. Pot fries the brain. Hillary has very convenient selective amnesia depending on the topic at hand or the proximity of the topic to the smelly RICO corruption or treason.

I don't think it's a screeching halt becasue

a) It was MSNBC, so who saw it

b) It was Johnson, so who was watching except his diehard supporters

c) Most of his supporters probably didn't know what a leppo was, either.

But it definitely didn't help him convince anyone else that he's a serious alternative. And, hey, Mitt Romney wants him at the debates, so that's gotta count for something, right? (not holding breath)

He isn’t running for President of Syria.

Just because the media echo chamber is twitter-pated on a topic doesn’t mean that it is genuinely important to the USA.

Libertarians.... I would argue, much to the chagrin of social conservatives, [are] right more often than they (sic) wrong...

Hardly. The vast majority of libertarians despise conservatism in favor of a stealth liberalism. They favor redefined, "gay" marriage, unfettered drug use, open pornography, public nudity and obscenity in the public square.

Those that object and say that they don't are just lying, because otherwise they violate their theology.

The last time he ran I listened to an interview he did and was totally turned off by him. It wasn’t so much the issues he claimed to support. It was because he came off as a totally narcissistic, arrogant jerk who is superior to everyone else. I got the impression he really don’t care what happens to our country. But he wants to be in charge.

While I disagree with Johnson and would never vote for him because of his embrace of BLM, TPP, and open borders, this is exactly what is wrong with our government.

I do not want a president who knows every damn dirka dirka muhammed jihad prince, city, and term. The precise problem is people who claim they are steeped in the dune coon jibber jabber. An America president should know OUR country, OUR constitution, OUR needs.
If they are firm in that, then it doesn’t matter about Alleppo.

Johnson was very clear and expressed that Syrian rebels and isis were interbred.
All the fainting couch and pearl clutching over Allepo is an establishment parlor game. I see nothing that should interest an American president there.

No, it came to a screeching halt when he became the Party's nominee. Gary Johnson isn't a libertarian, and he most certainly isn't a Libertarian.

After years of jumping up and down in protest every time Bill Maher claimed to be a "libertarian," the Libertarian Party actually nominated a guy who is, essentially Bill Maher: a liberal who wants to smoke dope and not got to jail. That's the extent of his "libertarianism."

He doesn't believe in the Bill of Rights, he doesn't believe in RKBA, doesn't believe in Due Process, thinks the Civil Rights Act trumps the Constitution, thinks foreign treaties trump the Constitution, thinks the UN is a great institution, believes illegals should have access to generous social welfare programs, and on, and on, and on.

None of those positions is anything that ANY libertarian supports. Even the people at Cato have pretty much disavowed him. Their executive director recently said: "Social liberal and fiscal conservative, isn't my definition of libertarian." But Johnson isn't even a fiscal conservative. He's a liberal, a fool, and a wanker. But he does have some name recognition, which is what the LP is terribly desperate for.
