The old saying "the proof is in the pudding" isn't a bad bit of wisdom. That's why the advice to go see for yourself has borne up over the years.
Such it was over the entire Labor Day weekend, as we drove through southern Ohio on a series of jaunts that took us through Fayette, Clinton, Highland, Adams, Clermont, Brown, and Hamilton counties along some of their major and minor highways.
What I saw over the weekend really struck me. First, I saw that the hesitation to put up signs in support of Trump has apparently become passé . I saw lots of Trump signs, and some places had multiple Trump signs.
In that entire time, I saw ONE Clinton sign and that was in a yuppie neighborhood in northeast Hamilton County. Even in Hamilton, though, the Trump signs were evident.
I do believe the shoe is now on the other foot and people truly are embarrassed to admit that they support the totally, obviously corrupt Hillary Clinton for the presidency. The common folk, though, are showing off their support for Trump.
Let me also note that I saw not a single Johnson, Stein, or McMullin(?) sign anyplace.
What does this all mean? Obviously, it's anecdotal, and it is not a scientific random sampling by any means, but we did put lots of miles on the truck, and we saw what we saw. To be honest with you, I really was struck by the absence of Clinton signs, because I distinctly recall the Obama signs from 4 and 8 years ago.
I don't think saying "it's early yet" really accounts for the absence, because the same argument would apply for the Trump signs. Besides, it isn't early. It's pretty late. The election is just about 60 days away.
So, take this in conjunction with polls showing the race close in Ohio, and Trump having a slight lead.
If true that Clinton is in a near tie with Trump in Ohio, this can only mean she has dispirited followers who are not inclined to let others know of their support for the most corrupt candidate ever to run for the presidency of the United States of America.
Lots of Dems voted for Hogan 2 years ago so this is no real surprise.
They’re all over the place here in AZ. I’m guessing your GO-PEE offices are being influenced by your crappy Governor. Try in the next county or call Priebus and turn in the creepy anti-American slugs.
Fraud was a yuuge factor in OH in 2012 with greater tha 100% voting for Obama in some precincts. As usual, the Republicans did nothing... no push back.
Agreed - poor intensity can definitely indicate a lack of motivation to get out and vote for someone.
