I ask all Climate Change believers one simple question. In parts per million, how much has CO2 in the atmosphere increased in the last 40 years?
All I ever get is the deer in the headlights stare. Not a single one yet has been able to tell me the answer.
Ask the weatherman for an accurate weather report........
They cannot do so. So why believe anyone who says the temps will rise (always decades away).
Here’s another question that gets the deer in headlights look. I sometimes ask them is, ‘So you think the Holocene has ended! Can you tell me why you think that?’
That depends on whether Hillary and Merkel are having hot flashes.
(Hey, this *is* Free Republic. Bashing libtard politicians is what we do.)
How is a monatomic gas going to absorb in the IR anyway? /facepalm)
Ask the climate idiots just what is their end goal. Ask them. They don’t have an answer. They don’t know. They are merely riding the liberal Luddite train.
Ask them what 1800ppm, which was the sustained level for millions of years, would do to the Earth. They don’t know.
My guess is that Jack Hydrazine's mention of Argon's use (as a protective - i.e., read: inert - atmosphere) in welding may have thrown him off.
But you're right, of course; even if we didn't already know Argon's absorption spectrum, one could still deduce that it is indifferent to infrared radiation, based on its physical make-up.
Regards,
What is the approximate carbon dioxide percentage of the atmosphere?:
a) Less than 1%
b) 14%
c) 41%
d) Greater than 99%
