My HS principal, Mr Franz, was the spitting image of
Rommel. The kids called him ‘Stoneface’ but never TO
his face. Stern and no nonsense, but fair. My dad was
the school’s Agriculture Science teacher and had access
to pheasant hunting on some rice farms in the Central
Valley. Pop was popular among the hunter-teacher types
and Mr Franz, as well. As a 15 yr old I was shocked to
see what accomplished poachers all these straight arrow
teachers and administrators were. I had no problems in
school......much dirt on many teachers.
