Actually, he’s saved it from the likes of Paul Ryan, Lindsey Graham, Mitt Romney and Jeb Bush...all of whom say they are conservatives every time they open their mouths (but then, it is an election year).

Wait...there was a conservative movement? Movement sounds right. The GOP betrayed us.

No, the people who are destroying conservatism are Ryan, Lindsey and McCain and any other backstabber who supports turning this country into a third world toilet of left wing stooges for the sake of low wages. Conservatism does not work for Conservatives it only works for the country clubbers. The only difference between them and their Democrat establishment ilk is that the are unwilling to pay the higher taxes to support the bipartisan mess that both of them aremakingof this country. Tax them all!!!

Nothing would be further from the truth. What was destroying the effectiveness of any Conservative movement over the past two decades, was the "politically correct," censor mechanism, which has succeeded in neutering most Conservative spokesmen. In his show of outright disdain, Donald Trump has struck what potentially could develop into the death blow for "political correctness."

I have been fighting for the traditional American Conservative values for the past 66 years, and the success of Donald Trump, thus far, should be on any list of the ten most hopeful signs for Conservatives in that period. (It is actually in my top five.)

The damn media are the worse liars and I damn sure recall the losers in college who majored in journalism. I had a guy like Chris Wallace in World Communications. Like Wallace, his father was a big shot on TV in Chicago. The kid was given a car by dad and an apartment paid for plus expenses in the same new apartments in Omaha where young attorneys, business types and captains in the army lived while were going to UNO.

I think the disconnect is between professional conservatives (talking heads, radio hosts, print commentators) and the rest of us.

They’re not in the business of results. For them, conservatism has become largely an intellectual exercise. For the rest of us, we want real-world results.

So yes, Trump is ending the intellectual exercise. After about three decades of reading the script, the natives got very restless and expect results. This is very understandable and, indeed, predictable.

The professional conservatives never expected to be held accountable since results and accountability isn’t something they’re interested in.

When a principled conservatives breathlessly tells me a Trump candidacy (or even presidency) threatens everything the GOP has built over the last thirty years, I have to laugh. Exactly what is worth preserving?

...conservative movement...

What "conservative movement"? All I've ever seen conservatives do by way of protecting Constitutional rule is blog. Never and real movement.

How is it conservative to have open floodgates of illegal immigrants into this county, while simultaneously sending TRILLIONS overseas in international aid and protecting Germany, France, England, Japan, South Korea, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, etc? And don’t even get me started on trade policies that loose jobs.

Trump is not only saving the conservatives, he’s saving the nation.

He is, however, wreaking havoc on the RINOs, which is the source of the complaints.

If it’s the movement in DC he’s already destroyed it and thank GOD that he’s done so!
