Louras made no apologies for excluding the public from the planning. If the proposal had been floated earlier, the mayor said, the debate would have become about them meaning the Syrians, their culture, and possible links to terrorism instead of whether the city had the means to accommodate the refugees.
Yes, and we cant possibly have a public discussion about whether the migrants have possible links to terrorism. That would be Islamophobic.
The benefits, economically and culturally, that we will recognize is exactly what the community needs at this time, said Louras, the grandson of a Greek immigrant who fled the Ottoman Turks a century ago. It has almost certainly not entered Louras mind that any of the people he is bringing to his town might share the world view and aspirations and goals of those who drove his grandparents out of Ottoman Turkey. Inconceivable!
Meanwhile, back in the real world, Ahmad al-Mohammed and one other of the jihadis who murdered 130 people in Paris in November 2015 had just entered Europe as refugees.
In February 2015, the Islamic State boasted it would soon flood Europe with as many as 500,000 refugees. And the Lebanese Education Minister said in September 2015 that there were 20,000 jihadis among the refugees in camps in his country. Meanwhile, 80% of migrants who have come to Europe claiming to be fleeing the war in Syria arent really from Syria at all.
So why are they claiming to be Syrian and streaming into Europe, and now the U.S. as well? An Islamic State operative gave the answer when he boasted in September 2015, shortly after the migrant influx began, that among the flood of refugees, 4,000 Islamic State jihadis had already entered Europe. He explained their purpose: Its our dream that there should be a caliphate not only in Syria but in all the world, and we will have it soon, inshallah. These Muslims were going to Europe in the service of that caliphate: They are going like refugees, he said, but they were going with the plan of sowing blood and mayhem on European streets. As he told this to journalists, he smiled and said, Just wait.
Will they be waiting in Rutland?
Surley Ben and Jerry’s ice cream can hire the new muslims. Can they bring the prayer mats too?
Heroin——big time problem.
.
Government payola
Welcome Syrian Refugees! Yay!
If the article is accurate (and it probably isn’t) the populace is largely accepting or supportive. If that is the case, may they enjoy the fruits of electing a suicidal leadership and they should keep the blood off the sidewalks and the women fully covered. Otherwise, an aroused citizenry should drag the major out of his office, tar and feather him and ride him out of town on a rail.
“This is my brother Sharif Al-Farook, and this is my other brother Sharif Al-Farook.”
Sharpen the Guillotines. These corrupt Western governments are going down. Brazil and Austria just got rid of their corrupt executives. Venezeula is in full blown riot. Viva the revolution !
Our government is working on that ‘problem.’
and get ready for riots, car bombings, rapes of its women.
We need Donald to put a stop to this insanity!!!
Well, the newcomers can sure help with that!
“And just what benefits are those?”
Probably federal money paid to the town :(
> “...instead of whether the city had the means to accommodate the refugees”
Just how much did Obama give these jerks to ‘settle’ these bastards?
> “The benefits, economically and culturally, that we will recognize is exactly what the community needs at this time...”
Uh-Huh, Yep. Money paid by Obama from money that Ryan gleefully put at his disposal.
F’ing bastards!
No doubt about it. The Hussein regime aims to spread Islam into every corner of our nation, the whiter the better.
Well, they would put an end to these all-important restroom jitters.
Isn't that where the Rutles came from?
I have not been to Rutland in over 30 years. lol I never enjoyed going there. I preferred Burlington and Middlebury when we would go to a bigger town. But, I have heard that the city is just sinking into heroin and crime.
Mary Frann too bad she died so young
Odd last year I walked the streets of Burlington with a girl I started seeing after coming out of a club that was doing 90’s night, looked over my shoulder but never felt in danger, I still smelled weed though.
