Some of the “villains” are interesting or have some redeeming values. He really is despicable as you say.

So, question. Why was the title of last night’s episode called “Oathbreaker”?
Who broke an oath?

Looks like the girl formally known as Aria Stark got a promotion... glad to see that.
Jon Snow swore to serve the black for the rest of his life, he did that so his obligation is complete. He can move on to other things now.

okay did anybody pick up in the flashback vision sequence when Ned Starks son was seeing his father fight the knight?
That it looked like it was at Vasquez Rock of Star Trek frame ? And whole scene and music was almost in a Star Trek TOS Style?

"Who broke an oath?"
I'm thinking they are alluding to Jon Snow leaving the Knight's Watch, but I don't see that he broke his oath. His oath was to serve it for his life. He died so I believe his obligations were completed. In fact both of these events (Jon Snow coming back to life and leaving the Knight's Watch) were so predictable. Also Ramsey killing Lord Bolton was predictable as well, it was just a question of when...

John said his watch has ended. He executed those who killed him, and now he’s handed off his responsibilities and indicated he’s leaving the Night’s Watch.

The interesting part is explaining to everyone else how he nullified the vows.

And technically, Daenerys also broke an oath and faced punishment for not coming to the home of the Khal widows after Drogo’s death, hence the impending punishment debate.

The poison meaning nothing to those who are no one was interesting. If she told the truth, she got her eyes back. If she was lying after returning to the temple, she would be dead.

Jon Snow could be considered Oathbreaker for leaving the Watch; however, since he died already that essentially frees him from his vow to serve until death.
