Excellent: Target stock has lost $1.5 billion in value since letting men in the ladies’ room

The price of arrogance.

Ordinarily I would not root for any business to fail, even one of my own competitors. But when a major corporation tells the vast majority of its customers “f*** you” in order to appease radical social activists, it would really be a shame if those insulted customers just kept shopping there and made the corporation pay no price for its arrogance. The early returns suggest Target customers are doing no such thing.

Breitbart reports that Target stock has fallen $2.65 per share since the infamous announcement that Target will let confused men into its ladies’ restrooms and dressing rooms, which amounts to an overall reduction of $1.5 billion in the value of the company’s stock. I doubt that’s a direct result of any revenue drop caused by people boycotting Target, even though 1 million people have signed online petitions saying they intend to do so. Boycotts are never effective for long because after awhile people’s anger subsides and they return to their normal day-to-day habits.

Don't bet on that. It's been 14 years since I've tasted Sam Adams beer, and I don't plan on touching the stuff again, ever.

And in the past 14 years, C. James Koch, the man behind Samuel Adams beer, has become a billionaire.

Let the gaystapo lgbtqrst or whatever shop there exclusively. Sorry for the employees but I hope the whole chain folds. Maybe 0 can issue an eo that everyone must shop at target once a week or go to the gulags with the people who don’t believe the weather gestapo warmists.

TGT is publicly traded but the Dayton family is still a large shareholder and is certainly not without influence.

By the way, old man Bruce Dayton also started the “B. Dalton Bookseller” operation which has since gone out of business - so it could happen again. He named it after himself but changed the y to an l because it sounded cooler or something. Target has always been a big sponsor of liberal events and causes, kind of the corporate patron saint of Garrison Keilor’s version of Minnesota.

Starbucks’ CEO wanted its baristas to “start a conversation about race” in the checkout line, and said that he didn’t want the business of anyone who opposed gay marriage. Starbucks follows the left-wing, “progressive” line.

I hope this is long term. The stock fell about 2.50 but the stock market overall fell this week so hopefully it has to do with bathroom and not normal correction.

Target’s real economic hit will come when someone is molested in the Ladies’ restroom by a cross dressing pervert and Target is named as a party defendant in the ensuing civil lawsuit.

Same here. There are two local coffee shops in the same block as Starbucks with better coffee, lower prices, and friendlier service.

Tar-jay has been living on the ragged edge for years. They had low regard for our military and veterans, and when called on it, they had a big spiel about how much they love the military, etc., and it blew over. But now they’ve gotten too brazen, and gone too far, and appear to be getting their comeuppance. They deserve it. One outfit that really does give a hoot about veterans, is Sears.

Target used to be a fun place to shop, but that was about 30 years ago. I worked at Target while going to college before it went full bore PC. It’s a shame since their stores were always brighter and cleaner than the Wallyworld.

Target is an over priced Walmart/Ikea... disposable goods.. no quality whatsoever. Graphically they do excel...

The bathroom decision would never have been done by a board of directors who cared about maintaining their companies value. It’s almost as if they were pushed by the government in some way to do this. It just makes no business sense.

Haven’t shopped there in years when I found out they were one of the biggest financial contributors and supporters to help pass Homosexual unions/aka fake marriage back in 2014. Nobody will miss it if it goes belly up.

This story is pretty stupid. The stock has been way up over the last two months. Investors sold stock to cash in. It absolutely has nothing to do with the bathroom dust up.

What does ‘being in trouble before’ have anything to do with this issue?

People who don't shop at Target announce that because of a newly-enacted policy they disagree with, they will continue not shopping at Target. And then when it is announced that Target's sales are slipping (and have been slipping for a long time and for reasons that likely have little to do with this policy change), they claim, "Yay! We're winning!"

Same thing with JC Penney's.

Yet, Amazon marches on with their blatant, in your face gay outreach...

For me, Target's brands, overall store quality and shopping experience rose significantly above that of Warmart and Kmart long ago.

Ah, but then Target publicly jumped on board the PC & Social Justice Railroad to be one of its engineers.

Watching them pull out of Sanity Station, all could I do is wave goodbye with yet another one of these times' bitter tears in my eye.

Oh well. Too bad, so sad...but for thee, Target, not for me.

Internet shopping has changed that white flag of surrender and crying towel you're passing out into a soothing butt wipe.

Ha! Flush You, Target!
