Thank you for that reminder. I hope we don’t see another tornado season like it.
I’ll never forget that day or the night I spent trying to get in touch with the friends I have there. Fortunately all mine were safe.
And also went back and watched this today to remember how powerful that tornado was.

My Grandma was one of the 330 that died in the April 3-4, 1974 Super Outbreak.
148 twisters across 13 states from Alabama to Michigan.
I will never forget that night. There was no place to go.
Unbelievable day that was.
My daughter is a freshman at Bama. Lots of stories on facebook about the outbreak. It’s hard to imagine the damage.
Yep - rode out a tornado that hit Altus AFB in the 80’s and saw the aftermath of some others. Driving through Birmingham on a trip a few weeks after the area had been ravaged/savaged was an eye-opener despite prior experiences. Between that and going through Katrina, I’m good if all severe weather just mysteriously stops for a few decades.
It’s also the 5 year anniversary of the Joplin tornado killing over 100 - making a path 3/4 mile wide right through the middle of the town. I’ve been there - really hard to believe.
