I feel I need to do this. This is tearing us apart like the state tearing a father away from his children during a divorce. I don't visit the DUmmies, Kos Crazies or the Huffingstuff Post because for one, they're insane, two, I like my sanity, and three, the websites are poorly designed, though that's mostly DU.
They're probably laughing hysterically at the civil war everybody is having, because this election did far more than they could ever hope to achieve. This is far worse than the 2008 and 2012 elections. We knew we were getting screwed either way, and held our noses to vote for the establishment candidates.
I was originally for Cruz when he first announced. He spoke intelligently, and I liked what he had to say. When Trump announced, I thought "what a novel idea, someone that has actually created jobs running for president. This should be interesting." At first, we thought Cruz and Trump would work together and maybe join each other later on as a president/vice president ticket. Then, as I guess is predictable, the mud flinging began.
Over time, information began to come out showing Cruz's history. It showed him as a regular politician with a shady past. Now most recently the allegations that Cruz has had multiple affairs.
Trump has had affairs while married, but he admitted to those. He didn't keep them secret.
I've noticed that our civil war has waned a bit, but that Mason - Dixon line we drew in the sand will probably not go away. Anybody on the other side of the aisle that pays attention to this site has been laughing themselves to tears. We need to stop throwing punches at each other and return to the civility we had before Cruz was the first to announce.
I usually loathe vanities (although I’ve tossed a few up).
I don’t loathe this one.
Well done!
Now the question is: Will Cruz blowup the GOPee? Will Trump align with the ‘rats if elected?
“Over time, information began to come out showing Cruz’s history. It showed him as a regular politician with a shady past. Now most recently the allegations that Cruz has had multiple affairs.”
This statement makes breaking your precious silence a complete waste of time. Stay silent, it will make you a lot of good...
Meanwhile Trump makes an egregiously PC statement referring to Bruce Jenner as "Caitlyn" and "she," and some supporters on this forum called this brilliant rather than face the truth about deceptive Donald. His mask is slipping and the liberal is coming out.
Yet, as you call for peace you spout tabloid trash.
You are correct, they are loving it.
A possible liberal is currently beating a conservative and the liberal’a followers are using liberal tactics to take our the conservative. It’s win win for the DU crowd.
Agreed.
Unfortunately, most #NeverTrump & #NeverCruz types won’t.
Fortunately, most will forget about this whole thing once a nominee is selected and the other goes away, leaving the terror of Hillary in full force.
Some observations about what is really going on can be found in this tread.

Ain’t gonna happen, the divide runs too wide and the animosity too ingrained.
You’re a gullible dolt. Welcome to Libtardness where you listen to the media and believe them! LOLOLOLOLOLOL
You make a good point, one that a lot of others have been trying to make for a long time. Unfortunately, it’s just too late.
The mud-slinging was started by Trump- with his hateful rhetoric, insults, mockery, and name-calling. Cruz never sunk to that level. Cruz was smarter about the delegate process from the get-go.
Well said!
Is this a retread?
But the latest National Enquirer bombshell could end it for Cruz. Their cover shows Rafael Cruz standing next to Lee Harvey Oswald outside the Texas Schoolbook Depository on November 22, 1963. Cruz's father in the plot to assassinate JFK! This is hugh! and series!
But your post is an excellent example of how things got to this point.

There was a time when a spade was called a spade.
I know it was contentious here in 2008 and 2012, but nothing to the levels of the unrestrained personal, vituperative malice that I’ve seen here in the past few months. The Eleventh Commandment has certainly been relegated to the ash heap of history.
I used to come here not only for news (mostly before anyone else had it), but for a wide variety of articles, a few laughs (usually at the expense of the left), and some raucous live threads that felt like a party among friends. I even contributed back when my financial situation was rosier. All of that now feels like the halcyon days of yore.
And for the record, I don’t have a candidate. I distrust Cruz, I despise Kasich and I don’t think Trump is anywhere near as bright or principled as many others do. But I will vote against ANYONE against She Who Shall Not Be Named (and rhymes with pillory). So the infighting is not only unpleasant, but boring.
I suppose I shall now be zotted!
...
Cruz, Kasich, et al are mathematically eliminated and cannot win the nomination per the voters. They can attempt to re-wrest the nomination away from Trump and away from We the People only by corrupt establishment treachery at the convention. And that will split and destroy the party and guarantee a Hillary win.
NeverTrump is a losing proposition and will lead to a loss of liberty and loss of country. This is totally unacceptable.
After the corrupt establishment losing twice in a row to Marxist Obama, I'm damned tired of the corrupt establishment and damned tired of losing. If you are a NeverTrump type person, you are working against our purposes on FR, so please opus out now and log off and let us carry on with our mission in peace. Continue insulting us with 24/7 anti-Trump diatribes and insults, your opus will be assumed.
We will unite behind our nominee and we will win this coming election (with or without you) and we will get a handle on this divided forum very soon.
...
By the way, Cruz's campaign still refuses to answer the question whether or not Cruz will support Trump if he's the nominee. He's taking the GOPe route of preferring Hillary over Trump. This is also totally unacceptable."

As you can tell by now it “ain’t gonna happen”.
