According to the recent CBS national poll, not even Ted Cruz's own supporters want a contested convention, and come very soon, that will be Cruz's only path to the nomination. How will Cruz be able to explain his continued presence in the race, when he can no longer claim he's trying to win enough delegates outright for the low-information sound bite crowd?
To: Trump20162020
Especially when the Trump Team starts rolling out the video of Cruz telling Kasich to get out of the race since he couldn't win the delegates.

It doesn’t matter, his mission now is simply to stop Trump.
The Cheap Labor Express must have the amnesty candidate they paid for.
The RNC/GOP must deliver.
They just need Cruz to block Trump from reaching 1237, then they will dispose of Cruz.

Cruz CAN NOT lose more than 49 delegates. Maybe less.
If he does, its over.

He isn’t trying to win 1237 delegates, he’s trying to stop Trump from winning 1237 delegates, which means he’ll stay in until the end.

Ted Cruz is going to be mathematically eliminated from securing 1,237 delegates by next Tuesday"That's on the first ballot. However if Trump can also be kept from getting 1,237 votes, then things open up on the second ballot.

There are people even on this board who relish the thought of R. Cruz stealing the vote from D. Trump.

"If that's the case and everyone has the same goal, which is to put a Republican inside the White House. . . ." My goal is to put a conservative in the White House. That's why I'm staying with Cruz until someone else locks up 1237.

...Ted Cruz is going to be mathematically eliminated from securing 1,237 delegates by next Tuesday. If that's the case...A statement of absolute certainty and immediately after, a caveat saying he does not know for certain...

However if Trump can also be kept from getting 1,237 votes, then things open up on the second ballot. When that second ballot opens, all hell breaks loose. It will tear this Country apart.

“My goal is to put a conservative in the White House.”
Bingo, electing any old clown because they have an “R” next to their name isn’t good enough for me anymore.
To: Trump20162020
I believe he's already mathematically eliminated.
Hard to decide whether Cruz or Kasich is the spoiler.

Does not work that way.
Trump people are the most Loyal
2nd ballot Christie, Carson delegates become Trump delegates, Trump picks up more endorsements.
With over 1100 delegates to Cruz 700 there is still only one winner Trump. I think many Rubio people will go for Trump and it will end.
Cruz problem is his personality is TOXIC. Even his wife turns her head away when he wants to kiss her.
To: Trump20162020
If that's the case and everyone has the same goal, which is to put a Republican inside the White House. Which is why I won't vote for Donald Trump under any circumstance. Trump is not a Republican as shown by his past support for Traitor John Kerry and Hillary Clinton, his gun control support, and his current support for planned parenthood.

There are people even on this board who relish the thought of R. Cruz stealing the vote from D. Trump. I look at it more as stopping a Clinton donor and a liberal from stealing my party's nomination.

Trump Campaign Manager Corey Lewandowski says, "Ted Cruz is going to be mathematically eliminated by next Tuesday. I guess that's Cruz's "rough patch"...the one Manafort was talking about.
In actuality, in state after state, Cruz has been clobbered over and over again....he just hasn't hit the floor, yet.
