No, no earthworms allowed. They might be closer domestic terrorists.
In states with mandatory registration you’re better off building your own, via PCR-80’s. No serial, no 4473.
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
That may be true. However, if one files a report as discussed, those serial numbers are recorded as stolen. So when you are harassed by the cops, and they see that you are in possession of stolen firearms, you're going for a ride. And can expect a lot of unpleasantness between that time and when you can try out the defense that you mentioned. Then more unpleasntness while explaining why you haven't stolen from yourself.
You presume that they WANT to find them.
YOU, they can find. Bet your life on it.
Hi,
When doing a private purchase, how does one confirm that the firearm one is purchasing is not stolen? (Legit question - I don’t know an answer.)
That was my thought too. Everyone with black rifles make trades with others. Confuse ownership so much no one knows who has what. Make bills of sale on each trade to make it look like a sale.
I've only bought from or sold to people I know. I know these folks legitimately owned the firearms, and they know mine are legitimate.
Truly, there is no way to know 100%, unless you do the transaction with a dealer, but that defeats the purpose.
I was not placing any particular genre of firearm in the mix, except ALL of them, from Bond Arms derringers to Barrett fifty cals.
Here in swampy Louisiana, the ONLY record of sale, by state law, is the motherloving federal NICS paper. NO bill of sale required, NO transfer of ownership, NO hand me down documents, either.
As one of the former federal employees who were hacked, evrn the paid organization to provide lifelockish futute protection, had trouble verifying that i exist, so if they really needed to, they could not.
You can still built an AR from a “kit”.
It is still being done. I don’t care much for .223 rifles. Shoot and reload a little heavier stuff.
I have not bought a new rifle or pistol through this, but I doubled down on my reloading equipment and components about 3 years ago.
That will be a very very hard sell in Texas and a lot of neighboring states.
FUBO and Derr Hilderbeast.
unfortunately, many states are very very strict on when you are allowed to use a gun legally- they allow you to own one, but by golly just don’t try using it for self defense-
There was a report after Joe Biden told women all they needed to do to scare off criminals was fire a single barrel shotgun into the air- a man did just that- sending a thief running down the driveway- the man who shot defending his home was arrested - probably for discharging a weapon near homes or some such nonsense- Maybe even for menacing with a deadly weapon- can’t remember now what he was charged with- but i recall the woudl be criminal filing charges agaisnt the man— don’t know whatever became of that incident
Had this been 20 years ago- the police would have high-fived the man who shot, and buried the report by the would be criminal
Texas is not one of them.
