I assume Trump will explain this. I have no idea what he meant. He did say “that” instead of “him,” which doesn’t sound like a person, but I don’t know. Since everyone is out to get Trump, it’s all over Twitter. Never did Obama get any bad press for seeing all the fallen war heroes in the audience, and of course the corpsemen. The 57 states, the breathalyzer, teleprompters to speak to a 3rd grade class.
And the clearly felonious Hillary Clinton is treated like a respected candidate for President by all.
It’s not a very fair world.
I think most Penn State fans still expect him back, but it’s been longer than three days.
Elderly buffoon Trump tripping all over himself again, this time babbling about some creepy dead guy who turned a blind eye to child rape. There’s a reason his handlers won’t let him do interviews anymore.
Of course, people who focus on stealing delegates and manipulating national party technicalities can't handle the idea that all politics is local, so, . . .
“I love Joe. Joe’s a great person. A great person, I tell you. Believe me. How is Joe anyway? Let’s bring him back and make Pennsylvania State again!”
I wouldn’t make much out of this mistake. It makes those who do such exaggeration as seeking to aggrandize their own position by making another person look smaller.
He was probably trying to talk about the Paterno statue at Penn State that was recently removed.
I grew up in PA (south central) and never understood the near-idolization given to that man. I always thought he looked kind of creepy, could never figure out why. When it became clear he was at least complicent with Sandusky’s evil then I knew my instinct about the man was correct.
So you all can debate about whether Trump meant bringing “Joe Pa” back from the dead, or restoring his statue on campus, or even bringing his “spirit” back to PA it’s all irrelevant. The man was a jerk to cover for his assistant coach like he did. Period! He deserves no such adulation and respect!
Just goes to show to me again what character Trump has quite frankly.
Go ahead flame away, as you desperately try to justify your idolizations of either or both men.
Yeah, he was evidently talking about bringing back Joe Paterno’s tradition of winning.
But I can understand why such a simple locution would mystify those for whom analogy, synecdoche, or any other complex but common figure of speech is terra incognita.
He was referring to bringing back his statue.
