Nobody's Stealing The Election From Trump
American Thinker ^ | April 2, 2016 | Daniel John Sobieski

On the heels of a Marquette University poll showing Sen. Ted Cruz taking a 10-point lead in Wisconsin, Donald Trump once again whined on Wednesday that the “establishment” is trying to take the nomination away from him, citing the Louisiana delegate allocation which gave Cruz more delegates even though Trump got more votes. as Exhibit A. As Breitbart News reported:

With less than a week to go until the Wisconsin primary, Trump came out swinging -- against Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX), against the Establishment lining up behind Cruz in order to keep Trump below 1,237 delegates so they can broker it in Cleveland, and against Cruz’s supporter Governor Scott Walker.

“The FR caucus Cruz support is less than 15%.”

Yeah, but a fairly large number of Cruz supporters left and started their own site awhile back, so the numbers are a bit skewed.

Maybe it’s not a problem with you, but I’d discipline my kids if they’d have ever called their beaten opponents in sports “losers,” to their face or otherwise. Having a presidential candidate do that routinely to virtually anyone he disagrees with is beyond crude; it’s damaging to the social fabric.

Look, I used to read stories of the behavior of young people in the UK and shake my head, hoping it wouldn’t happen here. Well, thanks to past and current leadership, it IS happening here, and Trump’s crude behavior is not exactly the example we need to set if we’re to stop it. Quite the reverse, actually. That’s something I would hope you’d put some thought into before assuming that crude behavior by a President isn’t something that should concern you.

If Cruz hammers Trump, as all are now predicting, in Wisconsin, Trump will show his ass big time and totally implode as a serious candidate. DONEald.

LOL. Keep pumping Cruzy. A hammering is 0 for 6 on Super Tuesday while getting 13% in OH and 17%. Cruz was humiliated on Super Tuesday and only your Cruzman Sachs loving eyes can’t see it.

Trump losing a state that hasn’t gone GOP since 1984 is no more than a speed bump. Your real problem is nobody likes Pastor Ted. He’s the worst national candidate in generations. Deal with it.

Cruz’s Texas win marks lowest home state support in 104 years

Sen. Ted Cruz’s victory in his home state of Texas, dubbed huge by many in the media, was the worst showing by a Republican candidate in a home state since 1913, according to a new analysis.

On Super Tuesday, Cruz won 43.7 percent of the vote, besting Donald Trump who won 26.7. But the average primary showing by Republican candidates who won their home state in the last 100 years has been 78.5 percent, according to the Smart Politics blog from Center for the Study of Politics and Governance at the University of Minnesota’s Humphrey School of Public Affairs.

Yes, I assume that the vast majority of Trump voters (not rabid supporters now, but voters) will easily switch to Cruz.

Not a chance. Cruz has a but called Trumpers klansmen for supporting Trump and stood with violent communists while they attacked us. Ted Cruz will never be POTUS without GOP base. Cruz is running the best GOP voter suppression campaign the Dems could ever have had.

As a graduate of UC Irvine, whose mascot is an anteater, we all know the sound of an anteater makes when eating an ant is Zot.

So I always enjoy the prospect of being Zotted.

Kasich isn’t listening just like Cruz is in denial. Both of them want to steal the nomination. The players don’t have to play the “game.” They would rather lose the election in November than have Trump as the nominee.

Maybe Cruz did say exactly that, but I doubt it.

Why do you doubt it? Cruz argued that Kasich, who trails both Trump and Cruz in the delegate race, would need to win "more than 100% of the remaining delegates" in order reach the 1,237 required to secure the nomination. As of Wednesday, Trump leads with 741, Cruz has 461 and Kasich has 145. "Under the rules, he won't even be on the ballot. The (Republican National Committee) rules provide that to be on the ballot you have to have won 8 states. There are only two people who meet the threshold -- Donald Trump and me," Cruz said. "Kasich cannot even be voted on at the convention."

But as things stand, Trump wins those delegates with as little as 34% of the vote even if he would lose them in a two-man race, and his terrible favorable/unfavorable standing makes it quite likely that he would continue to get less than 50% of the vote in a two-man race meaning, of course, that Cruz would win those contests.

But that is not the reality. We have three people in the race down from the initial 17. To date, Cruz has won only won 19% of the delegates allocated. Trump has won 30% of the delegates.

Most of the remaining races are not winner take all. They are winner take most. Delegates will be awarded by CD and statewide. There is no way Cruz overtakes Trump in delegates even in two man scenario. Do you think Cruz has a shot at winning NY and NJ?

Cruz and Kasich are on the same team. They are both trying to stop Trump from winning 1237 delegates and forcing a contested convention, which is their only hope of winning the nomination. Neither Cruz nor Kasich has a path to 1,237.

Both of them want to steal the nomination.

Of course, they do. Just like Trump thinks he should be able to 'steal' the nomination even if he's short of the requisite 1,237. For ALL of them, what's 'fair' is whatever outcome results in them as the nominee. None of them care about anything beyond that.

Cruz is on record saying that ONLY Trump and Himself are in the running for the nomination.

That's what I said.

I heard Rep. Steve King, Cruz’s campaign co-chair, on the radio yesterday. He was counting Kasich votes as votes for Cruz. They are drinking some strong Kruz-Aid in Cruztown. LOL.

For ALL of them, what's 'fair' is whatever outcome results in them as the nominee. None of them care about anything beyond that.

But there supporters do care who is the nominee. If Trump is cheated out of the nomination after being the frontrunner since July, won the most states, delegates, and votes by far and is denied the nomination, the GOP will pay a terrible price in November. Either the primaries mean something or they do not. The reason that Trump is in the lead is because people are upset with the political class. They want an outsider.

If you buy the premise that Cruz is an outsider coupled with Trump, then the majority of the voters (54%) have voted for either Trunp or Cruz. Will you consider it FAIR if neither one is the nominee?

There is no doubt that Cruz and Kasich are on the same team when it comes to stopping Trump, the only reason they are still in the race.

Won’t fly. When you win the election, you should receive the delegates. Period. Anything less is stealing,

Maybe if Trump didn't spend half his time tweeting inane and stupid comments on Twitter and had his "best in the world" people actually read the rules for each state GOP delegate rules, he would need to whine...

Maybe he shouldn’t have to.

Maybe that’s why 50% of Americans don’t vote-—because they see s#$t like this and say “It’s rigged,” which it appears to be.

It’s time apologists for Cruz start standing up for the integrity of the system, or there will be no system . . . unless that’s exactly what Teddie is counting on (and it sure looks like that’s the case).

I bet 90% of the Cruz supporters that remain are from Texas or Iowa....

Don't be silly: constitutional conservatives live all across america

The FR caucus Cruz support is less than 15%...

Completely meaningless in the real world...

And I think this is THE largest most conservative forum in existence.

I've been here since 1998 and as much as I love this site, it's basically an echo chamber...meaning it does not reflect accurately the mood of the country...only a small part of it...

Oh' BS...you don't think when Trump does a real estate deal, every dot, every tittle every angle is not looked at to get an advantage ?...of course he does...!!!

I thought The Donald was Greatest at deal making ???

Face it, Trump's ground game is very weak, it's showing up in knowing how the political game is being played...

I may be mistaken, but following the rules IS having integrity....

Not knowing the rules is not an excuse...

Gee, if Trump can't figure out how the rules are set in the delegation game, the rest of the world ( our enemies) will be a mystery to him...

Good luck explaining that argument about how the rules matter more than votes to Trump supporters who have outvoted Cruz something like 3-1 so far.

I really don't think establishment types understand how many of us are ready to bolt the party, and I've been loyal since 1980.

The powers are really misreading the mood of the electorate, and I think some of the Cruz supporters are, too.
