A disgusting article at the National Enquirer claims Ted Cruz cheated on his wife, which evidently spawned the hashtag #CruzSexScandal. The allegations, of course, are fake. And this author will eat her car if proven wrong. That is a promise.
On Facebook, Donald Trump responded to the fake story by saying he did not read it, and in his typical statesman-like manner continued:
“Likewise, I have nothing to do with the National Enquirer and unlike Lyin Ted Cruz I do not surround myself with political hacks and henchman and then pretend total innocence.”
Not surprisingly, National Enquirer CEO David Pecker is described as a close personal friend of Trump. See this excerpt from NYMag last year:
“Trump and Enquirer CEO David Pecker have been friends for years. ‘Theyre very close,’ said a source close to the Enquirer. In July 2013, Trump even tweeted that Pecker should become CEO of Time magazine, which at the time was being spun off from its corporate parent, Time Warner. ‘Hed make it exciting and win awards!'”
Here is the Donald’s tweet from 2013:
.@TIME Magazine should definitely pick David Pecker to run things over there – he’d make it exciting and win awards!

Donald Trump was not finished bashing Ted Cruz, however, implying that the story was true, since the tabloid was “right about O.J. Simpson, John Edwards, and many others…”
I have no idea whether or not the cover story about Ted Cruz in this week’s issue of the National Enquirer is true or…

This vile political game appears to be a bridge to far even for Trump supporter Michael Savage, who threatened to withdraw his support from Trump lest he disavows the story and David Pecker.
Listen to Savage discuss his disdain for the tactic at the Right Scoop.
I love how the Cruzites insist that the PAC that started this with their Melania is a slut ad is completely independent of the Cruz campaign...yet they think the National Enquirer takes it’s marching orders from Donald Trump. Right.
I also listened to Savage on the radio. He gets my full respect. Borders, language and culture. He is correct. Today he mentioned how Culture includes the Bible, the Constitution and the Declaration. Bravo.
Yes, the Cruz scandal is digging up dirt and Roger Stone is a brave person. Trump needs to avoid the dirt and focus on winning, tax proposals and foreign affairs.
And that the NE can put together this massive case in a few days and none of it existed before that.
“and, most importantly, build the border wall. “
You mean the wall that will be a trillion dollar government make work project and take 10 years?
How bout instead we just seal the border in 30 days?
You know; the old fashioned way with the National Guard?
Trump and other crony capitalists benefit from having an open border. They don’t want it shut.
I just think he’s worried about what the NPR folks are saying.
“You mean the wall that will be a trillion dollar government make work project and take 10 years?”
Good lord, you need to read up on Trump and Wolman Rink.
Less shilling, more reading.
"Liberalism is a mental disorder" and,
"Borders, language and culture".
Trump henchman Roger Stone is the only source quoted in the story.
This issue is not the issue. The issue is F’ The Establishment.
It’s Gateway Pundit’s headline.
“Good lord, you need to read up on Trump and Wolman Rink.
Less shilling, more reading.”
Come on people; THINK. You don’t need a wall to seal the border.
We have the best military in the world; they can get the job done in a few weeks.
We need the border sealed TODAY; not in 10 years.
Just because your guy Trump makes good soundbites with a wall; doesn’t mean it is the right way to go.
His response was:
I have no idea whether or not the cover story about Ted Cruz in this weeks issue of the National Enquirer is true or not, but I had absolutely nothing to do with it, did not know about it, and have not, as yet, read it.
Likewise, I have nothing to do with the National Enquirer and unlike Lyin Ted Cruz I do not surround myself with political hacks and henchman and then pretend total innocence. Ted Cruzs problem with the National Enquirer is his and his alone, and while they were right about O.J. Simpson, John Edwards, and many others, I certainly hope they are not right about Lyin Ted Cruz.
But Cruz sure took advantage of Trump's wife's GQ spread, didn't he.
You’re projecting... it won’t work on me.
Is that proof to you?
