Good Grief-Glenn Beck Today: Ted Cruz is "The Mormon Prophecy" Sent To Save The World from the "last of days"
Posted on March 20, 2016 by sundance
This isn’t the first time Glenn Beck has said his blessed candidate was the representative image and embodiment of his lord and savior who has arrived to save the world. Beck also isn’t the only one who believes it. Ted’s father has said something similar when he proclaimed “Ted was anointed to take control of society“.
Previously Glenn Beck proclaimed that God killed Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia to insure Ted Cruz wins the republican nomination. Today Beck proclaimed the “end of days”, and Senator Cruz as the prophecy fulfilled.
A reasonable person has to wonder how this prophetic sales pitch is supposed to help beyond a very narrow segment of the religious electorate:
UTAH – […] Beck said that he, like many Mormons, believes in a prophecy that the Constitution will hang by a thread in the last days. He said he believes that now is that time, and people like Lee and Cruz will save it.
He also said the Book of Mormon was created as a guide on how to protect freedom in our day. At the Provo rally, many responded yelling, “I believe, I believe.” (read more) [video available here]
Beck appears to be describing the Mormon belief in a White Horse prophecy

exactly- unfortunately though it seems the stars are lining up against Ted- Beck endorsing him, Mitt endorsing him, Lindsay endorsing him- His staff putting stuff out without verifying it first- and the constant cries of NBC ineligibility etc- It’s as though the rinos are colluding to make sure he loses by trotting out the nutjobs and most liberal GOP-e’s to support him- It’s as though they are colluding in an effort to make hillary president
The right/GOP-e simply can not be this stupid- it has to be a concerted effort to take him and trump down because htey are doing everything in their power to destroy him it seems
I had very serious doubts about Beck’s sanity BEFORE all this prophecy nonsense started- but now I’m absolutely convinced He’s sick in the head-

Fine. I’ve asked others, I’ll ask you: please give me a direct quote (not someones elses opinion of Beck) from Beck that you find objectionable.

Well, I have not heard that before, YIKES.
I read a lot about their religion when Romney was running for president, I was not impressed, in my opinion, it seemed like a cult.
I went ahead and voted for him because he didn’t seem to govern using his religion. Now, I absolutely believe he would.

“From what I can tell, most of the anti-Beck sentiment is simply thinly veiled Christian bashing.”
From my standpoint, anti-Beck sentiment is simply defense of true Christianity from the teachings of a false prophet that taught (sorry - “heard from God”) that Jesus Christ, after dying on the cross for our sins, then hopped over to “The Americas” and massacred an entire race.
See the LDS “holy scripture”, Book of Mormon, 3 Nephi 9:
https://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/3-ne/9?lang=eng
Never mind that there is no archaeological record of any of this. Nothing. Not a single sword, shield, or coin from a supposed vast population.
So remember that Mormons believe that this weekend some 2000 years ago that Jesus Christ, after dying on the cross for our sins, then hopped over and massacred a bunch of people, and then hopped back and was resurrected.
True and complete blasphemy.
But they’re such nice people.

Ooooor, pull him into the LDS.

Thanks. The point of my question was not to try to find a quote - I've seen the below quote. The point of my question was to try to understand what
you find objectionable.
Fall to your knees and pray to God to reveal to you what the hour is, Beck proclaimed at a Cruz rally in South Carolina. This is your last call, America! Stand, stand with the man I believe was raised for this hour, Ted Cruz!
And so I ask: what exactly do you find "delusional"?
A) That Beck would ask folks to fall on their knees?
B) That Beck would ask folks to fall on their knees - and pray?
C) That Beck believes: "This is your last call, America!"
D) That Beck believes that God has a plan for Ted Cruz in this election?

I’m not arguing the veracity of LDS doctrine - I’m simply asking what Beck stated here that was “delusional”.
See my post #70 and please point out what you find delusional.
Thanks

I havn’t said I find Beck objectionable. I like what Beck is doing, he’s diminishing Cruz in the eyes of the average voter with his antics and that’s a good thing. I wouldn’t be surprised if Beck and Cruz have a future in tent revivals.
I stated I find him delusional. That’s a fact. He is. To believe that Cruz should be elected president because of Glenn Beck’s interpretation of the teachings of the Mormon cult is the height of delusion. If you can’t see that I am truly sorry for you.
To: smoothsailing
Yep everyone understands that you thinks Beck is delusional.
However, in the quote YOU provided, I asked you a specific question. The response you gave however, was just a very nice dance around my question.
So I’ll try again: in the quote you provided, what do you think was “delusional”?

I'll tell you what bothers me about this, and I have liked and appreciated a lot of the exposés that Beck does. I am bothered by the impression that Beck sees himself as a self proclaimed prophet. I'm worried about the conflation of the Kingdom of the Right Hand and The Kingdom of the Left Hand.

I could find two pastors that have said that Trump “was raised up for such a time as this.” From the book of Esther. One of them also referred to Mr. Trump as standing in the gap in the hedge to save America from destruction. The biblical reference pertains to standing in the gap between the people and God. The pastor turned the phrase a bit as standing in the gap between the people and the government.
Another said Mr. Trump had God’s hand on his life, and Billy Graham had written a letter to Mr. Trump with a “prophetic word”. (No confirmation by anyone).
I imagine many pastors and people that support Cruz and others have used the same or similar verses to promote their candidate. (Hmm - I wonder if Hillary or Bernie have verses ascribed to them. Well - Hillary might have the one about the four horsemen of the Apocylpse I suppose.)
I haven’t heard what Beck said, but it sounds like pretty crazy stuff compared to what others have said about Mr. Trump. But I guess one’s definition of crazy might include thinking that God gives a rip about who will be president or who will win the Super Bowl. (I believe that God does care - at least about ONE of those!)

Unless you accept Mormon jingoism as the word of God, you would see Beck for what he is, a deluded fool. I just can’t help you any further than that. I’ve answwered your question. You refuse to accept that answer. So be it. Be one with Beck.
To: 21twelve
God has always cared. That really isn’t the point.
Adam and Eve made choices assuring that God’s preferences would not dictate human choices.
If God were to intervene in such matters, I would have expected the rise of Islam, Stalin, Hitler, and Mao to have taken greater precedence than the election of 2016.

Ive answwered your question No, what you told me is YOU think Beck is delusional (and he very well may be).
But you haven't presented any proof of it in this thread...
