Outsourcing Creates Jobs in the Long Run
by Donald J. Trump Chairman, Trump University
We hear terrible things about outsourcing jobs--how sending work outside of our companies is contributing to the demise of American businesses. But in this instance I have to take the unpopular stance that it is not always a terrible thing.
I understand that outsourcing means that employees lose jobs. Because work is often outsourced to other countries, it means Americans lose jobs. In other cases, nonunion employees get the work. Losing jobs is never a good thing, but we have to look at the bigger picture.
Last year, Nobel Prize-winning economist Dr. Lawrence R. Klein, the founder of Wharton Econometric Forecasting Associates, co-authored a study that showed how global outsourcing actually creates more jobs and increases wages, at least for IT workers. The study found that outsourcing helped companies be more competitive and more productive. That means they make more money, which means they funnel more into the economy, thereby, creating more jobs.
I know that doesn't make it any easier for people whose jobs have been outsourced overseas, but if a company's only means of survival is by farming jobs outside its walls, then sometimes it's a necessary step. The other option might be to close its doors for good.

Seems like folks are getting desperate trying to find some actual dirt on Trump and end up proving that he's pretty darn clean as far as baggage that could encumber a President.
Meanwhile, some of the RINOs in the GOPe are thinking that rallying around Cruz, who they hate, might be their best bet to "save the GOP". Since Trump ain't concerned about an on-going political career, he would most likely be able to ride roughshod over those who oppose anyone that isn't "one of them".
BRAVO !
Not for anything but the other side of the equation hasn’t been discussed at all. Reciprocation. As far as I know, Very few foreign companies have built plants here. Some of that has changed in recent years. Subaru has a pant in Indiana (for the Outback..I know, mine came from there) Likewise, Honda, in Maryville, OH.) I can name a handful. But what large clothing manufacturers still maintain a presence..from Gap to Nordstrom’s, how many have U.S. Based clothing? worth a look by industry/commodity to see what the ratios are. My first jobs were electrical/electronic assembly. There used to be dozens, right in my area. as far as I know, Vishay and Mars electronics are the only ones left. To me, this is a very large component in the mix that should fall under the umbrella of fair trading practices. Maybe that idea is all wet but I don’t think so.
Keep in mind that the Obama IRS has every detail about Trump's tax history, and the Obama FBI has every detail of any Trump dealings with organized crime.
The Dems are doing a "Brair Rabbit" on Trump ("Please don't make us run against Trump") while laughing about all the dirt they can dump on him once it's too late for the Republicans to do anything about it.
Do those companies that made those clothes belong to Trump?
Or do they belong to the Chinese and to a Mexican? If they are owned by the Chinese and the Mexicans, then what is different than what is being sold in almost every store in the country from groceries to baseball gloves?
That’s your hope and wish anyway...
Trump hasn’t exactly been sitting around with his head in the sand, you know...What they could maybe find on ONE man pales in comparison to what Trump could find on hundreds to thousands of RINO’s, GOPe, and liberal, socialist democrats....
Really?!? You think Trump can "beat" the IRS, FBI and the rest of the Obama executive branch? You really have been hitting the Trump Kool-ads hard!
And it doesn't matter what he might have against other people (such as his veiled threat against the owner of the Chicago Cubs). It only matters what he has against the Democrat nominee that would seriously hurt them with their base.
Certainly Trump is every bit as dirty as Hillary. But he won't have anything like her resources.
I guess we’ll see when it gets to nut cuttin’ time....
I take it you want more of what we’ve had the last twenty-five years in office then....
Oh well, some people will settle for the status quo, I guess....
Rather hypocritical to claim you’re going to “bring jobs back” when you do all you can to export manufacturing and import cheap labor instead of hiring American textile manufacturers and employing American labor.
You never answered my earlier question...That would give you a great explanation to your statement...
Veryyyyy disappointed you did NOT CHANGE THE DATE—why bother when it suits the agenda so much better right?
ARTICLE DATE: AUGUST 2005 - THE ARTICLE IS OVER 10 YERAS OLD...IT WAS NOT SAID YESTERDAY. :(
Truly all offshoring is NOT bad, when it is done right. Im absolutely certain that some people on FR who have never managed a large IT organization will not understand this, though. Flame on.
The trouble is that there's no incentive to use it as anything aside from (fraudulent) citizen replacement. Never mind that it tends to cut out the entry points for new US talent (seeing the dimming prospects for anything stable).
soooo, what the hell did Trump mean in his answer to the H1BVISAS? I couldn’t tell.
So, what DID Trump say about H1b visas?
Are you really that naive? If there was some serious dirt on Trump, his opponents Rubio/Cruz/Carson/Bush/RNC/GOPe/etc would have used it to dump him off the playing field so they could manipulate it.

And you are the naive one if you think that the Dems will be forthright about which Republican candidate they do or do not want to face in November.

I realize you folks need to twist yourselves into pretzels in order to defend your NY LIEberal, but Trump is nothing but a hypocrite on the issue. This is the typical record of Trump’s mythical conservativism. You cannot say you are going to be tough on the issue when you put into practice the very things you claim to oppose and it makes no difference if he owns the factory or farms it out to cheap labor sweat shops. His brand, his choices.
