As a lawyer, I will point out that the argument about Trump business failures, which always cites that four of his ventures ended at one point in Chapter 11 Bankruptcy, is based upon a misunderstanding of how large Builders protect their overall enterprise, by setting up separate corporations for each project. This protects the parent enterprise, and recognizes that unforeseen circumstances can wreck even the best laid plans. Trump's overall success is clear.

As a non-lawyer observer, I will point out that the way this talking point is framed is not a misunderstanding, but a distortion to favor their viewpoint. I have a very difficult time believing that all of the people who make this point are ignorant of the facts, but rather perceive that they distort the facts to bolster their opinion.
