On Friday, Breitbart News Editor-At-Large and DailyWire.com Editor-in-Chief Ben Shapiro unleashed a video broadside against 2016 Republican presidential frontrunner Donald Trump.
In less than 24 hours, the video was viewed more than 850,000 times on Facebook and YouTube; it has over 1.4 million views at the time of publication of this article. In the video, Shapiro addresses three groups directly: Evangelical Christians, conservatives, and what he terms the we want a winner crowd.
Speaking to Evangelicals, Shapiro details Trumps personal history with regard to treatment of women particularly. Have evangelicals ever supported an unrepentant, pro-Planned Parenthood, adulterous strip club owner before? he asks.
Shapiro then traces Trumps political positions, which have vacillated wildly over time. Just two weeks ago, Trump said, Im very capable of changing to anything I want to change to,' Shapiro muses. Is this someone conservatives should trust?
Finally, Shapiro turns to those impressed by Trumps acumen at winning. He details Trumps long history of business failures and racking up huge debts, and the fact that his father presented him with his wealth. Is Trump a big winner? Shapiro asks. Or is he a spoiled brat who grew up in the lap of luxury, had his dad sign his checks, and then bragged about how hes a huge winner?

I certainly did NOT call Trump a liar.
Reread the thread. You invited me to ask questions about the border - hence the question about Trump's intent with building the wall.
I didn't think there would be anything wrong in asking a question.
All is forgiven, FRiend!
Also I notice you haven’t the courage to address the accusation I levied to you. So I must assume my accusation was correct. tTat your stupidity helped usher in Obama, not once, but twice. That you are now on a path to help usher in Hillary.
When yoou consider the number of highly successful Trump projects, that never got into Chapter 11, the point they make is simply not valid. But I agree with you that many employing it, simply do not care to be fair, balanced or rational.
And remember, where you have a concentration of power in a few hands, all too frequently men with the mentality of gangsters get control. History has proven that.
I agree (of course). Power in this country was designed to be divided and diluted. It has become concentrated and has so attracted the worst kind of criminals.
Incidentally, someone, pretending to be an organization, emailed me the Shapiro piece, and when I replied, got a failure notice, that their was no such email address as the sender employed.
...moving on, you can have the last word pal.
Mas far as I know Shapiro has never been a lazy reporter, nor a stupid one. So I won’t give him the benefit of those things now. There isn’t much that explains what he is doing nor how Rush has been acting, nor so many other journalists.
What could explain all this synchronized attacking of Trump (at different levels and different degrees of ridiculousness) is the fear they’re under after seeing what happened to Scalia, or some other pressure being put upon them.
Have you ever seen anything like this before?
Sure. I'd like to know why someone trying to explain why it's wrong for me to support Donald Trump must employ straw men, half truths, and outright lies.
I do not formulate my opinions with their use, so why would I listen to those who do? Perhaps what they're saying isn't what they actually believe, but they're trying to be clever for my 'benefit?'
I'm no longer a Cruz supporter, but I feel no need to get in the face of those who are. I believe they're mistaken, but that's what makes for Poker and horse racing. I focus on refining and perfecting what I think, not what they think.
The Ben Shapiros of the world should get used to being ignored. I see a lot more of it in their future.
“They were making better coin than most construction guys for back then.”
So illegals are OK if they are paid well?
Those jobs should have been given to Americans.
Have you ever seen anything like this before?
Yep. Pretty much every Presidential voting year, although I would say the number of people succumbing to it has escalated pretty steadily over the decades. Presidents of both parties have taken on more and more non-Constitutional powers, making the Presidential run a bigger deal than it should be, and people get wound up about it.
The wise ones look back on their stupidities, apologize, and are more careful next time. (I still have hopes for Ben Carson on that front.) The rest of them fall apart again the next time a Presidential election rolls around.
I'm not familiar enough with Shapiro to have much of an opinion on him beyond generally agreeing when I've run across his stuff, which I will be more inclined to question in the future. Haven't read anything by Rush in years and have never followed his show (not much for audial resources), but I never thought Rush was as careful with the facts in his books as he should be, and I resented his lack of footnotes. Kind of unfair of me, I suppose, since further experience indicates that radio and TV personalities rarely footnote, but the fact that it's common doesn't make it any less annoying, IMHO.
Trump Supporters declare they don't care and it doesn't matter to them.
Any time a Cruz supporter points them out, it's labeled hate speech.
I was referring to the constant onslaught of negative attacks on one man by everyone from his own party to the pope, from el Chapo to the IRS. And no, that doesn’t happen every election season.
You posted an article by Shapiro that employs straw men, half truths and outright lies, then ask if someone can address it without engaging in insults. I did.
Who else is there besides Trump? Ted Cruz was a strong candidate until something went terrible wrong and he is unable to promote himself and primarily attacks, usually with ridiculous charges that make one wonder. He has failed to set to rest his nbc status. Robot Rubio the empty suit is the worst candidate of all. The rest do not get enough support. Please do not say we should draft Mitt Romney.
Thank you for your post.
Ahhh, Hello No!
I'm Cruz/Trump. ..voted Cruz last week.
Will support Trump in Nov once he closes the deal.
It just doesn't seem Trump has a set of core Conservative values.
I know he's a proud American, Loves his country, is anti-establishment and would be a bizillion times better than Hillary and her crime-family.
I understand, really I do. Since there is nothing positive you can promote about the man you have decided to support it's the only thing left you can think of, to vent your anger and frustrations. So you pick up on every lie being bantered around. You use all the innuendos so slyly being crafted. You grasp at every straw, regardless if it contains any truth to it whatsoever. In fact, you act just like the very kind of person you accuse Trump of being as you denounce him. Go support your GOPe, while we support not only a winner, but a fighter.
BTW, thanks for allowing me the last word, I will have the last laugh as well.
What, the Pope said something mean about Ted Cruz? I missed that.
Kidding. Trump gets more attention because he is a famous TV personality, but it is not all negative. And I would say that Cruz gets a lot more negative attacks from his own party than Trump does, while I’m pretty sure more Big Name Republicans have publicly endorsed Trump than have endorsed Cruz.
