“Under the citizenship law Cruz was a citizen at birth, hence natural born, that’s all it means.”

Not so.

‘Natural born’ means, that, by the very nature of a person’s birth, they can’t be anything but a citizen a designated country.

If a person’s circumstance of birth allows more than one nation to lay claim to their loyalty, they aren’t ‘natural born’, but merely a legal citizen of one or more countries.

In Ted Cruz’ case, no less than THREE different countries can lay claim to his allegiance.

This is precisely what the NBC clause was put into the Constitution to protect us from.

Simply put, if a person is born in country to two citizen parents, they can’t be anything BUT a citizen of the country of their birth, i.e., a Natural Born Citizen.
