I am, says Erick Erickson, and he's not alone. One of the chief coping mechanisms from righties on social media this weekend upon surveying the destruction in South Carolina was to swear they'll never be a Trumpist, even if the heavens fall. I believe Erickson, but I'd also bet cash money that 90 percent of the people saying "HELL NO NEVER HAPPEN" today will grudgingly come around over the next eight months upon being reminded, not on a daily but on an hourly basis, that Hillary Clinton is a pathological liar who'd be in prison if not for her status as the creme de la creme of Washington's elites.
I'm not saying conservative revulsion at Trump isn't real. It is, and I think when it all shakes out in November that Trump will have seen more Republicans stay home for him than stayed home for either Romney or McCain. But I don't think there'll be a third party and I also don't think that some sliver of conservatives staying home will doom Trump's candidacy. Given Hillary's weakness and his own appeal to independents and Reagan Democrats, it's possible that he'd find the votes he needs to win in the center. That would be the final indignity to the conservative movement after having its impotence laid bare for more than a year -- staging a mass boycott of Trump on election day and discovering that Trump can win anyway...

I despised the purists who refused to vote for Romney and gave us four more years of Obama.
So I could hardly refuse to vote for Trump. (gag, ugh)
Even Pope Francis has learned not to pass judgement on others.
I agree with you. I thought the same thing when I read Jonty’s post.
Trump loves Trump and he’s mildly fond of the populace that adores him.
Please, Rod. I have not sucked my thumb in years.
We have practiced that little bit of insanity since Reagan left office. We have arrived where we are at, PRECISELY because we have done that very thing; we voted for the person we thought was less damaging, and the nation has continued it's downward spiral picking up speed and momentum into absolute despotism.
I have repented of it.
The vast majority will however, much to your delight I am sure, engage in the exercise of insanity once again.
There was a time when I would have considered a hold your nose vote for Trump, no more. It is finished, he and his supporters have seen to that. There are many of us that feel this way.
I say let them dig their on holes, I won’t help them dig it for them.
With all due respect, do you believe anger and stubbornness are attractive Christian traits? Do 2 wrongs make a right? You are angry with Trump posters, letting them “dig their own holes....Sorry there are so many of you—and that justifies anger and stubborness?
As I told you in my rather long mail, Cruz supporters have trampled heavily on Trump supporters here too. Sadly, you are not digging my hole, but you and your many friends are digging one for the country.
I have enough logic and Christian compassion to forgive Cruz supporters their treaspasses as my Lord forgives mine. Are you really going to refuse to vote for Cruz because of nasty stuff Cruz supporters said on an internet forum?!?! Not me—I will vote for Cruz if he is nominee even though I have had Cruz supporter say stuff like I am stupid, I should leave FR, and I am not a Christian.
Seriously, you really ought to read what you wrote and reconsider...I pray you and the many others do for the sake of the country.
Seriously, we have to vote against Hillary.
I wonder how many freepers sulled up and refused to vote for Romney.
I wonder if they feel at all guilty for giving us Obama to do four more years of harm.
It’s important right now more than ever to vote for the Republican nominee.
I am not passing judgement, I am merely using my God given ability to make prudential judgements. Big difference.
I wouldn’t presume to pass judgement on anyone.
Staying home.
Every four years we hear the same tiresome, dishonest, shaming, threatening crap from you people that INSIST we vote for your political messiah for the sole purpose of stopping Clinton; stopping Gore; stopping Kerry; stopping Obama - now supposedly stopping Hillary.
It’s insulting to our intelligence the insistence that if we do not vote for your political savior, we are actually pulling the lever for the Democrat.
You want to ensure millions more stay home than in 2012? Keep charging principled Conservatives with voting for Hillary if they do not discard their principles to vote for whomever your political savior is - and you will ensure that inevitability.
You just judged that I’m not a conservative because we don’t support the same candidate. If that isn’t passing judgement, I don’t know what is.
Could be wrong, but I am pretty sure he is part of the NR hit squad.
I couldn’t care less about Erickson.
Please explain to me how losing it is less damaging than using it.

I answered it here:

What really feels odd to me is that I argued your analogous position in the last three elections.
I don’t play that game.
My vote is my vote, and how I choose to cast or not cast it is my right - not yours to shame, bully, ridicule or otherwise attempt to intimidate in support of whatever political messiah you have thrown your allegiance behind.
I certainly agree that we could really use a better field of candidates.
Sorry you replied and I responded?!?
What is wrong with you?
Yeah, there is a local radio host that has a show that him and another guy are always talking about how not voting is great because by not voting they are not “giving their permission” or endorsing the system.
What a crock. I get so PO’d when I listen to them that I don’t tune into it any more.
Those people have given us barry and many other leftists who are runing this country into a hole.
It is my right to make whatever political speech I wish to make. You are correct to say that it is your right to act or not act in response or for any other reason you may wish to share or not share.
