I am, says Erick Erickson, and he's not alone. One of the chief coping mechanisms from righties on social media this weekend upon surveying the destruction in South Carolina was to swear they'll never be a Trumpist, even if the heavens fall. I believe Erickson, but I'd also bet cash money that 90 percent of the people saying "HELL NO NEVER HAPPEN" today will grudgingly come around over the next eight months upon being reminded, not on a daily but on an hourly basis, that Hillary Clinton is a pathological liar who'd be in prison if not for her status as the creme de la creme of Washington's elites.
I'm not saying conservative revulsion at Trump isn't real. It is, and I think when it all shakes out in November that Trump will have seen more Republicans stay home for him than stayed home for either Romney or McCain. But I don't think there'll be a third party and I also don't think that some sliver of conservatives staying home will doom Trump's candidacy. Given Hillary's weakness and his own appeal to independents and Reagan Democrats, it's possible that he'd find the votes he needs to win in the center. That would be the final indignity to the conservative movement after having its impotence laid bare for more than a year -- staging a mass boycott of Trump on election day and discovering that Trump can win anyway...

Same here. I am for cruz. I will vote trump in general as long as trump doesn’t eat too much shoe leather in the summer. I could never stand hillary as president.
Nick
I’m gonna save some of your stuff just to pick on u later
Good naturedly
It was awful! And I’m not a Cruz person. Glad he’s gone, although it would’ve been better to have seen him gone before he had the chance to post some of those pictures. Some things once seen cannot be unseen. :)
As Uncle Josef said (and you are seeing with the Democrat party) - it is not who CASTS the votes that matters, it’s who COUNTS the votes (and win the coin tosses) that matter.
We are no longer a functioning Republic, so how this all plays out does so without your input - despite the grandiose shell game everyone is captivated by.
Strong delusion. That’s what we have along with a fatal case of Normalcy Bias.
It's a vanity for a trumpy to talk about pride.
I can't vote for trump anymore than the 3million or so conservatives who could not vote for Romney.(deduct 500k who refused to vote for a Mormon)
I suspect there are a few million more in this cycle who are totally rejecting another "hold your nose" vote.
So I will join Eric on this one and for the same or similar reasoning.
It is what it is...I breathe through my nose..I need it clean and not full of crap.
“Dum-Dum Purists who stayed at home last time in 2012, refusing to vote for Mitt for some insubstantial reason...”
The reasons were not insubstantial. They were many, and they were egregious in the extreme.
I posted Mitt’s dismal liberal governing record on Free Republic more times than I care to remember. It’s a record that would make any liberal Democrat blush with pride, and by all rights, should have prevented him from winning the nomination in the first place.
That said, it finally did come down to just him against the Marxist Usurper. Where else were our people supposed to go?
It was a suck a&& election that I don’t care to remember.
I think Trump should run with Cruz
It grooms Cruz and soothes the Cruz folk but on the other hand Texas ain’t in jeopardy
He might run with a big EV in question guy from say Ohio or Pennsylvania or Michigan
Colorado even or a cheesehead maybe
A purple state
People will say Florida but he’ll win Florida anyhow
First he has to close Super Tuesday though
But I have a feeling a lot of people who currently support Trump are going to be claiming, 'they were always against Trump,' etc. someday.
Romney was never my first choice, but I voted for him, as he certainly was 100% better than what we have.
This time, no. There is not a respectful bone in Trumps body. That's the diff...he and his supporters did it themselves.
And I don't need any reeducation on my decision, as they say Yakity Yak, don't talk back......hand palm.
What would he get out of throwing the election for Hillary?
Not money, not power, not what he claims ( and I believe him ) that he wants for this nation, so explain it....if you can.
Carly had one thing right: Donald Trump is a Christmas gift for the Democrats. Tell me how a Trump presidential ticket is going to respond to a DNC ad where he’s telling CNN the economy does better under Democrats, how smart Obama was for his stimulus package and his 2008 endorsement of Hillary Clinton. I thought Hillary Clinton would lose with 52% negative rating until Donald Trump outperformed her with a 60% negative rating. Its going to be a slaughter.
I don’t much like any of them. I have no desire to ‘reeducate’ you, or anyone else.
I just like to point out hypocrisy and illogic when I see it.
If that happens I’ll be easy to bust
That’s for sure :)
i’ll not vote for President if Rubio is nominated!!!!
So are you voting for Hillary or Bernie?
I disagree...Trump is an Obama lite.
I would.
It sure is, so Trump can do without my vote anyway. 60% negative, that's a WOW, Hillary wins as planned by Trump. He knows he can't beat her, my one vote won't matter.
You're one of the TDSers who happily believes every anti-Trump thing you see and hear. There's NO arguing or even debating you. I can post FACTS till I'm blue in the face and my fingers are bleeding from all of the typing and you STILL won't see reality.
So here's a few simple words of truth.....Hillary is EASY to beat, IF she is still in the race and the Dem nominee and Trump knows exactly how to do just that.
Die hard Dems will no doubt vote for her, there WILL be voter fraud as there ALWAYS is, but many Dems will either stay home or vote for Trump over her.
FR is not even a small pound; it is a tiny puddle! And even here, those who vote every day in our CAUCUS THREAD, TRUMP ALWAYS WINS and WINS BIG!
In the REAL WORLD, outside of the moronic, totally useless, supposed "conservative" ( hahahahahahahaha, hehehehehehehe, hahahahahahahahahaha ) GOPEers and pundits and talking heads, most GOP voters WILL vote for Trump over Hillary! So will the disaffected Dems and Indies.
And this is all I'm going to say. :-)
