Code Trump: The Gallop Leftward Continues
American Thinker ^ | 2/15/16 | C. Edmund Wright

Posted on 02/15/2016 6:40:02 AM PST by TBBT

Donald Trump is now officially the Code Pink Republican. Or maybe he's the Daily Kos or Huffington Post Republican. How about the Debbie Wasserman Schultz Republican? I think that fits. Heck, we all saw it and we all heard it. Trump went full left loon on George W. Bush and 9/11, sounding like the most impassioned truther from the left. Did Maxine Waters do his debate prep?

Trump snarked childishly that Bush did not keep us safe on 9/11. Apparently Mr. Trump is not intellectually very curious about history. If he were, he would know that 9/11 was dreamed up, contemplated, financed, planned, and practiced on Bill Clinton's watch. This planning and practicing continued during the days of the hanging chads in Florida.

This is not to defend George W. Bush and his neocon nation-building fantasies and his capitulation to unions regarding the TSA and so on. I've been critical of Bush and Karl Rove since 2001 on these and many other issues.

But the truth matters.

And the truth is that the single biggest failure by the American intelligence community was foisted onto the CIA and the FBI by Clinton appointee Jamie Gorelick with her infamous "wall of separation" between the two agencies. They had their hands tied behind their backs -- thanks to a Clinton appointee.

"The United States of America is being strip mined by the NWO (ask Heidi)"

Very well said. People here are choking on a gnat while getting run over by an elephant.

They have hijacked the word "conservatism" and redefined it to mean crony capitalism, open borders, "free trade". Politicians owned by donors and lobbyists who represent their own interests, and not the interests of the USA---these are now called "conservative."

Be serious. “They can’t control him.” He can’t control his own foolish mouth. He’s a buffoon with radical left code pink sentiments. It’s not surprising; he is a spoiled rich dilettante who now thinks that his big mouth qualifies him to be president.

“Trump is quite specific about letting Assad and Russia kick all the Islamists out of Syria”

That’s what is happening right now. Which is the status quo.

Try finding clothing that isn’t imported.

It’s actually quite difficult.

Status quo = What is happening right now.

Maybe you could explain why CEW, who used to grace us with his presence, is no longer here?

Some of the Cruzloyalists are every bit as dishonest as any Democrat.

That’s because everyone was listening and taking directions from the neo-cons who have always wanted the US sucked into every war in the Middle East.

So Bush is a full blown closet democrat to you now

Bush has always been a liberal. He is a neocon and all neocons are liberal. Trump is the only not neocon running, which is why I will be voting Trump. Back in 2000 I warned everyone that Bush was an empty suit liberal, I wish more folks would have listened to me.

I liked your 16 NKP_vet, well said.

He appeals primarily to former Democrats who still don’t really accept conservatism.

Trying to frame Trump as a Liberal is silly.. no political liberal in 20 years has made an argument that put America first, not one. So this argument is stupid, ineffective and is a down right fail politically.

I understand why Cruz wants to do it, because Cruz has decided to carve out the political conservative purist as his target, and hopes he can get enough of those not so hard core to join in to win the primary.... This tact doesn’t generally work, as political ideological purity hasn’t won a general election in my lifetime. Even Reagan, did not win the primary in 1980 by simply arguing nothing more than conservative ideological purity.

This won’t work, because Trump has never argued that anyone should vote for him because he carries water for the ideological purity of the hard core conservative, just has he has never argued the talking points of the GOPe on various topics. The fact that so many people are blind to this is stunning. The fact that they think calling Trump a liberal for calling the Iraq war a failure just shows how out of touch not only the GOPe is, but other factions are to the general electorate.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but like it or not, there is no spin that makes the War in Iraq a success. You can try to argue the reasons for that all you like, but end of the day Iraq is in shambles, its on the verge of being a failed state, and the reason for that, is because like it or not, we went in there and caused it. Don’t simply try to argue we lost because of Barry... Bush and his advisors clearly did not have any plan on what to do once Saddam was toppled... Just as surely as Obama had no clue what to do once his precious arab spring toppled “dictators” in the middle east, and too brought radicals to power. Truth of the matter is we had men on the ground longer in Iraq than we had in Japan post war... and were still no closer to having a stable country than day one.

In hindsight, there is no way you can argue the war in Iraq was successful. Bickering over why it was unsuccessful 15 years later, isn’t going to change that general conclusion. Was it the best decision to make at the time? Maybe it was, maybe it wasn’t, but that doesn’t change the outcome. Did Barry’s cowardess contribute to the failure? Sure, but you can’t argue even if he had stayed the course that it would have been worth it for what it turned out to be.

I hate to break this to some here, I supported Bush’s decisions at the time, but to believe in hindsight that it was the right move is pretty much an impossible argument. At the time was it right? Perhaps, but once you know the outcome, was it? A much tougher argument.

Trump is challenging orthodoxy that rightly needs to be challenged. Has Obama mishandled the middle east? Absofreakinglutely, did Bush mishandle the Iraq war before Obama was elected? Absofreakinglutely. If you don’t think the Iraq War’s handling didn’t help put Obama in power in 08, you are in denial... if you think 8 years later that the majority of americans view the Iraq war as a success you are flat out delusional.

Now, why is Trump winning? Not because he’s argued he’s an ideological pure conservative.... Not because he’s argued that he follows GOPe doctrine, or neocon foreign policy. Trump is winning because he’s made a very simple argument and case to the american people.... Their government has been selling them out for decades, and he will put America first, period. A very simple, concise and succinct offering that is resonating with Americans across all demographics.

Ideological purity by itself has NEVER won a presidential election, at least not in my lifetime. Reagan didn’t win in 1980 by arguing he’s the biggest conservative out there, his slogans were “Are You Better Off Than You Were Four Years Ago?” and “Let’s Make America Great Again”. He didn’t win in 1984 by arguing he was a great conservative ideologue... he did it with “Its Morning in America”.

Cruz, or anyone else for that matter, is going to take out Trump by arguing he’s not conservative enough... Especially when Trump is taking on GOPe stands that are frankly indefensible... that being the war in Iraq in hindsight was worth it... No rational person can look at it and say it was worth it in hindsight. That’s not saying it wasn’t the best decision that could have been made at the time... that may be true, but to try to argue in hindsight that it was worth it, is a failed argument.

An ideologue cannot win by simply being an ideologue and arguing others aren’t as pure. That’s never been a path to victory, not once. Not even Reagan tried to get elected or re-elected with such a foolish tact.

Cruz, or any other republican besides Trump wants to win, they need to co-op Trump’s message. The fact NONE of them have, tells you that the GOPe and the Money men of the Uniparty will NOT LET THAT HAPPEN. That tells you all you need to know about how broken the establishment system is. It is incapable of allowing anyone to argue put america first.

>> All because of the promise of a wall <<

Oh, c’mon. Give the Trumpsters a break, and don’t be so nasty, mean and sarcastic.

Here are some important factoids about that incredible, unbelievable wall-to-be:

1. It would be a solid structure, a true wall, not just a barbed-wire fence.

2. It would be 35 to 40 feet tall, all the way from Brownsville TX to Sand Diego CA, over mountains and impenetrable deserts. It would have approximately double the amount of concrete that’s in the Hoover Dam.

3. Trump Construction Company will build the wall. Competitive bids would be a waste of time. TCC will deliver the project under budget and ahead of schedule.

4. Mexico will pay for the wall, even if it is on the U.S. side of the border, and even if the costs greatly exceed the current low estimate of $16 billion.

5. The wall will have a yuuuge “welcoming gate” to let the good ones back in, after they have touched once again the soil of their native land.

6. The wall will be so great, so fantastic, so fabulous that it will make your head spin.

So what could possibly go wrong?

It bothers me and I find it incredible that people I once admired here are so caught up in their worship of Trump that they do not or refuse to notice all or any of his negatives.

Thanks for taking off the mask and showing your true elitist self. You’re truly disgusting.

You are the ones we are voting out of office - thinking you are our “betters”. But that also explains your desire to keep one of your own in office, and to keep the unwashed masses out.

Can I add just one?

4a - Mexico will pay for the wall with the pesos they DO NOT have and will be more than willing cut off nearly 1/3 of their GDP when the USD transfers stop cold.

I think they'll go for it.

Did you know he was born on Flag Day so he loves the flag. I was told that by a supporter.

Oh so you are going to support Glenn Beck’schoice of the unqualified Canadian Cruz?

You do know you will never see Cruz. We will end up with Rubio or Bush via a brokered delegate Republican convention. All the DNC/ GOPe has to do is shop a federal judge that agrees Cruz is not qualified. Then via a brokered delegate convention insert Rubio or Jeb. That’s their plan. I wish more Cruz supporters understood this.

The best thing that could happen with Cruz is to cease fire on Trump. Let Trump get elected and then have Cruz selected for the US Supreme Court.

Not status quo! It appears that, even though he is still just a candidate and not the President, his foreign policy is being implemented on the world sage! Consider.

Trump formally announced his candidacy for the presidency in the 2016 election on June 16, 2015.

The Russian military intervention in the Syrian Civil War began on 30 September 2015, following a formal request by the Syrian government for military help against rebel and jihadist groups.
