GOP presidential contenders Sens. Ted Cruz and Marco Rubio continued their ongoing feud over immigration during Saturday nightâs debate, but as the vocal South Carolina audience got involved, the pair let the insults fly. Cruz said Rubio âsupports citizenship for 12 million people here illegally. In addition to that, Marco went on Univision in Spanish and said he would not rescind President Obamaâs illegal executive amnesty on his first day in office,â Cruz said. âI have promised to rescind every single executive action, including that one.â Rubio wasnât having any of that. âWell first of all,â the Florida senator replied, âI donât know how he knows what I said on Univision because he doesnât speak Spanish.â With that, Cruz responds to Rubio in Spanish.
Exactly, very very worrying. Using the repubs words against the repub candidate.
Why should they have to? It’s not like I’m talking cutting tech here.
If it is so easy, why don’t you write the code and donate it.
When John finds out how.Meanwhile, we soldier on, using the converter at http://dan.hersam.com/tools/smart-quotes.html.
And/or using “ ‘ ” ’ (in lieu of using the single and double quotation keys) to display “ ‘ ” ’ .
If it is any consolation, it seems that mac users, or else I in particular, have it worse in that I do not associate the problem strictly with cut and paste text.
Es la verdad. Tiene razon.
Lol. You are, no doubt, correct.
.
Sorry. That was two-thirds of a pun: P U.
The audience should have started chanting, “Jerry”, “Jerry”, “Jerry”. Then the candidates should have started throwing cake like on a Jerry Springer Show. ;-)
I don’t run a website for a living.
Th ask for that link. Maybe FR should ( if they haven’t already) put a link to that site in the announcements.
All hat and not cattle?
Sad when our politicians can’t tell us the truth
Even sadder when the media can’t seem to get it out as well. Even ‘debates’ are no longer truthful with the party stacking the audience w/participators in their party. These ‘folks’ must believe we are dumber than dirt! Disgusted is such a small word but it covers a multitude of grievances.
Hope you might be here in the south - it’s a beautiful almost spring day here today. Hard to believe the northeast has been in the deep freeze. Does this mean global warming/climate change is worse here than there? So many questions w/so few answers.
I'm not in the South but out West.
WE used to say: "Dumber than a box of hair" but "dumber than dirt" works VERY well too. :o)
Our planet has been around four billion years+ and we have been keeping track of weather for MAYBE a few hundred years so WHO IN THE WORLD knows what our true climate predictions are or will be!
Cruz had attacked something Rubio said on Univision, and Rubio responded that “I don’t know how Ted knows what I said, because he doesn’t speak Spanish.” Ted turned to him and responded in Spanish. (One sentence. I heard “en Espanol” at the end.)
Rubio was trying to make Cruz out to be a lair, but Cruz brilliantly turned the tables on him.
Unlike Rubio nad Bush, Ted Cruz never speaks Spanish in public or on the campaign trail. He doesn't pander to Hispanic voters by speakign Spanish. So Rubio probably assumed that he didn't know any.
A bad assumption, considering that Ted Cruz's father, like Rubio's, was born in Cuba and spoke Spanish there, until he left.
By your logic, if one can’t cook, he can’t complain about a bad meal in a restaurant.
That wasn’t the point Rubio was making.
No, your original statement would be more like complaining about an ambitious, complex dish that falls short of perfection, and then suggesting any short order cook could make it when one is not capable of boiling water one’s self.
The code is over 10 years old and worked well for over a decade.
Them speaking Spanish while campaigning for President while me thinking in English makes me confidently feel that I know everything that I need to know about both of them.
