Jeff Sessions Slams Marco Rubio On Immigration, Praises Trump, Cruz

MANCHESTER, N.H. – Alabama Senator Sen. Jeff Sessions (R-AL)criticized Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL)stance on immigration while praising Donald Trump ahead of Tuesday’s New Hampshire primary.

Sessions, the senator viewed as the intellectual godfather of the conservative movement as it clashes with the Republican establishment in this primary, praised Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX)but warned against Rubio in an interview with New England-based radio host Howie Carr on Friday night.

“This is the deal. If the American people nominate a Republican candidate who favors amnesty and pathway to citizenship for illegals…then the matter is lost,” Sessions said gravely. “There is one opportunity to put this country on the course of a lawful system.”

“Ted Cruz I guess won in Iowa, and Ted stood by me as we fought against the Gang of 8 bill, which did pass the Senate and was on the verge of passing in the House when the leader in the House Eric Cantor got clobbered in his own district in the primary on this issue.”

“Marco Rubio was in the Gang of 8. They met in secret for several months,” Sessions said told Carr.

They met with La Raza, they met with the ACLU, they met with President Obama, they met with the Chamber of Commerce, and they wrote this bill and he became the chief proponent of this bill. And it would have increased the lawful flow of immigration from the colossal number of one million a year to one million point five, and it would have legalized eleven million people and put them on the path to citizenship.

“I think we should not nominate somebody who adheres to the views carried out by the Gang of 8 immigration bill,” Sessions said.

If Senator Sessions is not good enough for you, I’d like to know what you want. He is a man of honor. Don’t mistake his quiet manner for weakness. He is stalwart in his defense of the citizens of this nation. The Founders were hoping men like him would be around to carry this nation forward.

Said it many times myself. He is one the best in the Senate.
He won’t run for President, though and I don’t blame him, it’s a nasty business.

On immigration Sessions is the gold standard. I believe he thinks now is the time and this is the hill all conservatives should be willing to die on. If we don’t stop the globalists now, nothing else matters. So what ever your main point is, abortion, smaller government etc. it really doesn’t matter if we lose control of the country. Ideological purity is pretty much worthless if the Elites gain complete control and we are over run with people who have no intention of being Americans. When Sessions endorses a candidate I will support him no matter what disagreements I may have on style or other issues.

Yes, many good, decent and qualified people don’t run because of what much of it would entail. It is a shame.

Rubio is to 2016 what Romney was to 2012. Four years ago, opposition to Obamacare should have been our signature issue, but it wasn’t because of Romneycare. Once again, we have a winning issue (illegal immigration/amnesty), so why shoot ourselves in the foot by nominating the one Republican who was so obviously on the wrong side of the issue?

Great point! Get it out everywhere you can.

“Ted was on the right side of that debate.”
WAS.

Cruz’s websites states: “Deport criminal immigrants: Recommit the federal government to deporting all illegal immigrants who commit crimes – and make use of all available tools to deport criminal immigrants as quickly as possible.”

Other than that, don’t hold your breath on Teddy doing any deportation, folks.

Cruz has said he’d love Jeff Sessions as a VP.

A very good call! I believe Sessions is so respected, he could literally pick a cabinet position if asked. He’ll probably stay in the Senate though. I guess we’ll see...

I believe Judge Sessions is best used where he is in the Senate.

He's one if the two or three guys in the Senate a President Cruz (or other non-Establishment candidate) could count on!

Sessions is no weak sister and with a little more help by ridding the GOP bad eggs and getting some strong, stubborn constitutionalists, this country could really turn around overnight!

Trump met and was “convinced” by the DREAM ers in favor of amnesty.

Rubio said, "Hillary Clinton is disqualified from being commander in chief of the United States. Someone, someone who can not handle intelligence information appropriately, can not be commander in chief."

On similar grounds, Rubio is disqualified by his immigration stance, which is also a national security dereliction.

I believe you may be correct here. He could definitely be the muscle a president needs to help forward their agenda. I have to say though, I would love to see him as a SC Justice!

Sen. Sessions doesn't need an enemy in the White House in the full throated Trump vein!

I feel confident Cruz has said he's not about to press his few colleagues in the Senate, to cut themselves off from any communication in the White House! They already have that now, they don't need it with another administration!

If Cruz loses the nomination, he still goes forth in the Senate and would look forward to having a very small group of friends. His future is set either way and he's young enough to run again!

Don't hold your breath that there aren't many different arrows in that quiver!

As my good old great Auntie always told me, there are always many ways to skin that cat!

Denying jobs, benefits, doing workplace round-ups, mandatory reporting of those arrested and in jails and prisons, school records, community health centers, "driving infraction" mandatory detainments, are but a few legal steps the people can get behind!

Illegals used to return home when their job sources dried up - not now, they get signed up for all manner of government subsidies and even getting business permits and Small Business loans to start businesses!

"Trump met and was "convinced" by the DREAM ers in favor of amnesty."

Old news! That was 5 months ago. Trump has flipped his core values since then.
