Politics is a fast-paced and unpredictable game, and sometimes, unfortunate things happen. That's the best way I can describe what occurred on caucus night in Iowa when CNN implied that Ben Carson was dropping out of the Republican race, and the Cruz campaign swiftly alerted caucus-goers that they should consider voting for Ted Cruz instead.
Let's start from the beginning.
Shortly before the Iowa caucus was set to begin, CNN's Jake Tapper reported: ...

That audio was Ted Cruz speaking. How are you going to dismiss this?
Notice the time lines.
And another at 7:29 CST:
âHello, this is the Cruz campaign with breaking news: Dr. Ben Carson will be [garbled] suspending campaigning following tonightâs caucuses. Please inform any Carson caucus goers of this news and urge them to caucus for Ted instead. Thank you. Good night.â
The Carson campaign corrected the record on Twitter at 6:53 CST, but it seemingly went unnoticed:
“seemingly went unnoticed”??? That is convenient.
You really should try to get to the truth of what really happened, otherwise you are just participating in lies.
The voice recordings don’t lie.
just like the media ignores the "noise machine" in the democRAT ticket....
“lying baffoonery that is Donald Trump”
Have you contacted Greta to straighten her out?
Good headline, but I don’t think it’s helpful to Cruz. I didn’t read the article of yet another timeline. However, why did Cruz need to “apologize” if he didn’t lie? (That was another headline from a few days ago)
Yes, that makes perfect sense, from what we all know about CNN and their ilk.
So why, in this particular case, did the Cruz campaign suddenly start trusting CNN, when it would have been so easy to confirm the rumor?
I spent several wasted hours searching this lie down. It took one through several Trumpette sites and then through several liberal anti-conservative sites. The meat of the matter was someone sent several emails to the media (that could not be traced to a real person) and set up a fake twitter account. The liberals just assumed it was someone they hated, but never could prove it. But they ran with the conspirator stories anyway and some FReepers of the Trump persuasion decided that if their wee feeling were burnt during the Iowa outcome they would splatter conspiracy crap anyway they could.
Really... You can’t see the possible effects of such a BS move. Really, it didn’t have an effect on anyone?? I say it had an effect on the entire process. Yeah, and as reported no one came out saying it changed there minds.. It’s not simply about Mr. Carson. Fraud Much!
PS Ben Cason campaign is most to blame for CNN reporting that he wasn’t going onto NH and SC. But he prefers to milk the story in an attempt to prolong his dying campaign by using Ted Cruz as a scapegoat...even though he knows better.
Cruz went heavy "evangelical" the weekend before the Iowa caucuses. Carson's base has been mostly evangelical Christians. Since the caucuses, Cruz has backed off the evangelical rhetoric.
Based on this, I have no doubt that it was an attempt by the Cruz camp to shave a couple of percentage points away from Carson to beat Trump. I do not hold Ted Cruz in high esteem for this.
That's my observation and my opinion.
This is good advice. This is hardball politics. In the big scheme of things, this whole Carson outrage is a tempest in a teapot.
Carson fed the story through his own actions. How in the world after many months buildup, decide on the day of the caucuses to leave Iowa and go to Florida with the reason you need to get fresh clothes? What serious candidate would do that? There is genuine fear of Cruz in the press and they are using this shallow story clearly to try to crush Ted’s momentum. Cruz is very sharp and I think your advice could throw a lot of cold water on whatever flicker of fire could still exist.
The audio was NOT Ted Cruz speaking.
Funny. Reading this thread, seeing all the vitriol aimed at Cruz and the absolute certainty that he played a dirty trick, the more inclined I am to believe that he is an innocent victim in this.
Pray for a bike... Or steal one and ask for forgiveness. ??? It’s a question of morals.. Which has been lacking since “ is is”.
Nobody is denying the voice recordings. If you knew anything about what REALLY happened you wouldn’t trot out evidence that is not in dispute.
I tried to ignore your posts for sometime now, but this is just getting ridiculous .
Just stop. You still want to fight Iowa , instead of looking at the bigger picture of the establishment guy Rubio.
It’s tedious now. Move on, Cruz said sorry why can’t you just forget about it, unless you are a paid staffer or someone who wants the feud to keep going between Cruz and Trump so the establishment can get Rubio in.
Candada, its America's hat
