“The EMP “threat” is a lie. Period. Pure and simple.”

No it isn’t a lie. It’s proven physics. What is unknown is to what extent it will impact modern infrastructure and electronics. There will be some significant impact, how bad, and how difficult to recover from is simply not known.

The existence of an EMP is proven physics, the idea that one nuke 300 miles up could wipe out America is fiction. There won’t even be significant impact. You’re not getting any EMP damage 2000 miles (remember, it’s got to run the hypotenuse of the triangle) from the blast.
