Everyone is spinning the Iowa results from last night. Marco Rubio had a surprisingly good night and Donald Trump had a surprisingly mediocre one, the big winner was Ted Cruz.
No, not just because he was the actual winner of Iowa. But because of just how different his victory is from candidates in the past. It's monumental.
Think about it for a second:
The candidate who openly talked about...

This is an important point.
Cruz has gotten things done.
His government shutdown led to the Senate defeat of Democrats in 2014.
His break against Ethanol led to the largest RNC turnout for Iowa caucus in history— bigger than Obama 2008.
These are political accomplishments and they betray the key narrative that Cruz is too confrontational to get things done.
That proved true with Obama. That would be true with sanders.
That is clearly not true with Cruz. He has gotten things done by being determined and forceful.
I don’t know. If IOWA was all about the evangelicals, Cruz could have pretty much said anything as long as his religion was hanging out. That’s how the media was portraying it. The Evangelicals are going to carry the day, so apparently not much else mattered. It was a religious vote.
Do you honestly believe that? Let’s just leave aside the question of whether he is what he claims to be. Let’s take him at his word that he’s a strict constitutional conservative. Do you really think he has the political and leadership skills to push his agenda through against a RINO dominated GOP, a leftwing Democrat party, and the leftwing MSM? As much as you may like him, there’s not a chance in hell that he would lead some kind of conservative revolution if he were lucky enough to squeak out a victory, IMO.
He won because he told caucus-goers that Carson was dropping out (which was a lie), and taking votes from Carson.
Class.
Cruz went full retard on the Bible thumpin'. That's why he won.
The Iowa voters, especially the church marms, love seeing Republicans stop by every 4 years and embarrass themselves to get votes.
The article is talking about why he is a big winner in the eyes of principled conservatives, not how he pulled it off.
We shall see how Cruz does vis-a-vis Trump in New Hampshire and South Carolina. Then we will see if the GOP really is on Cruz Control.
Y’all having a lovers’ spat?
You may want to tell that to Trump...he said otherwise:
âWeâve got such an incredible ground game,â he said.
Wow, very well said!
“Oil price spike”? I have no idea what you are talking about.
The reason ground beef is 6 dollars a pound is due to the fact we’re putting corn in our gas tanks. Ethanol use has had zero affect on oil prices.
That has nothing to do with the article AT ALL.
Hey, look! It’s Joe Biden!
;-)
Why reduce our oil usage? We have tons of oil. Moreover, cars aren’t the only machines that get fouled up because of ethanol. Try leaving that crap in a lawnmower, a chainsaw, or an outboard motor, a small generator...the list is endless. Ethanol sucks!...and it is being forced on us by the corrupt, socialist, green lobby.
Your reply makes it sound like Cruz lied. Which you know he didn’t.

The article has nothing to do with how he won, it is about why his win is so big...and it has nothing to do with delegates.
His Canadian charm?
I’d sure spit on him, so maybe.
Self-promoting little arrogant punk what thinks he’s ever-so-clever.
Oh and did I mention he's also a Canadian and not eligible and an Anchor baby - in Canada!!
Yeah, that mean old Ted Cruz is so unlike by not only fellow guys in the Senate, the Speaker of the House, the President but most of all by the lobbyists!
Yeah, Cruz is so unpopular, so unliked so, nasty that he even believes he should keep the promises he made to his Texas voters is more important than getting liked by his Senate colleagues and K Street!
Iowa went Obama twice. They love their socialism there.
