Last night Texas Senator Ted Cruz won a clear, if small, victory in the Iowa Caucuses. He worked hard and smart to achieve his victory over Donald Trump and Marco Rubio; hats for off to him.
Iowa is a very different place where different elements add up to victory. At this time it is unclear how Cruz did among the Evangelical voters who turned out in large numbers but they were not the only voters to turn out. Clearly he did well enough with other voters to reach his magic number.
Nevertheless, as the Iowa system works the worst news for both Trump and Rubio will merely be the headline showing them finishing second and third because while Cruz got 8 delegates for his win Trump and Rubio both got 7 delegates for finishing second and third. Now the process moves first to New Hampshire a sharply different type of state where Trump holds a large lead over both Cruz and Rubio.
Trumpâs lead is currently larges enough to present a tall order for either or both to overcome and convince voters they deserve to win. The latest average of available polls from New Hampshire, shows Trump with a more than 20 point lead over both men. Can either or both close and beat out Trump in the Granite State? Stranger things have happened but that likelihood is not very great.
Trump ... has amassed a huge fortune during a lifetime of ups and downs. He has apparently been very good at learning from mistakes. He didnât make too many in Iowa and finished with one delegate less than Cruz.
".. he is a quick study as shown by his ability to come so close on his first try; and a 20 point cushion to enter round two with.

I take it you are a Trump supporter.
It seems they can’t get enough of “losers.” We have a nation’s capital jammed full of political sleaze. We have one chance to break the mold and send some of them back to their home pastures. That one chance is Trump. I am tired of this current mentality that honors losers and gives everybody a participation trophy. I want someone who has proven his worth to the economy of this country. Only ONE in the lineup should be the pitcher. His name is Donald Trump.
Can i make it any clearer?
I’d be interested to know how many of the Cruz votes are legitimate, i.e., votes that would’ve gone to Carson before Cruz lied and told people Carson was out of the race. Inquiring minds want to know...
Well, I hope there is no Microsoft app involved in the tallying of votes in NH. Numbers seem to skew mysteriously, as in Iowa.
I am a Trump supporter, and I agree with you on his speech last night. Then he blows it with a ‘why am I casting my pearls before swine’ tweet today, along with a few other really unwise remarks. He has GOT to learn not to tweet out everything that’s going through his head.
So, in other words, you’re OK that a “Christian” with “character” lies excessively to achieve his desired goal?
Yeah; today was my last day tuning in to Rush, after 20+ years.
“If Rubio is not soon squashed “
His parents’ history with the Cuban government needs to be researched well. Rubio’s fantasy history for his political gains are one thing; the truth is another. There are many sites out there documenting is lies, fudging (lying about) dates, etc.
I just wanted to make sure. You do realize are supporting the most unapologetic self promoter on the stage, right?
This clashes with your reply #10, in which you criticize Trump for holding back on three things he should've done in Iowa but didn't.
Yeah, just when I think that I wouldn't have to hold my nose as tightly to vote for him, should he win the nomination, he does that. At least my faith in man's ability to shoot themselves in the foot is still intact :-)
Right now, Cruz and Trump are the only candidates I will cast a vote for POTUS in the general election next Nov. Neither one is perfect, they are both better than the alternatives, though.
“Look at the rambling me, me, me, speech of Cruz “
Wasn’t his interaction with his mother one of the creepiest things ever? shudder
I agree with you. And I believe Trump has the better chance of winning and being an effective President, so I will stay with him. They both have warts, but they're not career criminals or Communists (or Muslims).
Do you really want to talk about weird family relationships considering you support "why can't I date my daughter" Donald?
Agree: Uniparty or Trump.
Go Trump. If he’s not the candidate, I stay home in November. Cruz and Rubio have voted with the democrats in their current positions. They’ll not change if President.
That never happened. (Are you another lying “Christian”?)
Doesn’t clash at all. This is how Trump appears to be running his campaign nationwide. He will have to open up his wallet to win this.
The headline should be re-written to reflect the information in the body: Watch Me Piss On Cruz’s Iowa Win
Or on The View, "she does have a very nice figure. I've said if Ivanka weren't my daughter, perhaps I'd be dating her"
Or on The Howard Stern show, "My daughter, Ivanka. She's 6 feet tall, she's got the best body."
And why would you bring my religion into the discussion, you weirdo? You have no idea what religion I am.
My point is only that Trump supporters probably want to avoid the topic of creepy family relationships. At all costs.
